Mooy.
To think he doesn't matter is ridiculous.

Mooy. To think he doesn't matter is ridiculous. Nail on the Head. Aaron Mooy orchestrated our play . Really helpful that we had no one lined up to replace him .

We’ve shifted on or lost to retirement so many good pros from the promotion team
When you had a dressing room with Schindler, Hogg, Lowe, smith, crainie, hef, whitehead, kachunga, quauner, Hudson who irrespective of their ability always give 100% you’ll know that there’ll be a focus and professionalism - all prepared to sign contracts living in Huddersfield
We’ve replaced them with players who showed bad attitudes at previous clubs and too many have done interviews saying they don’t like this manager etc
We’ve gone from a dressing room full of dedicated pros believing in a manager with clear ideas to one full of lads who don’t want to be in Huddersfield and are just thinking of getting themselves out of here

Wagner performed two miracles. We need another to stay up.

Hef better than elphick, smith better than flo, lowe better than kongolo (at lb), a decent kachunga Wagner But as mentioned mooy. he made us twice the team He didn't make us twice the team against Derby though. My favourite town player but no way would Mooy 2019-20 have been a patch on Mooy 2016-17. We have the quality of player barring one or two . The problem we have is some don't want to be here, we have scars from a terrible end to last season , and we have been appallingly coached for 7 months so we are going to have to start again . It's really.worrying but it is what it is . What actually might be helpful is the fans not turning on the club. Of course it won't happen - but we will stand a far.better chance of beating the drop if we all pull together rather than constant sniping at the owners, players etc

Wagner
Team better than sum of parts, fitness, organisation, attitude, playing shape, game management etc - much better than now all round Mooy - Everything came through him v gone DOF v one appointed 2 weeks into the season lol Signings made early in the summer (or before eg April) v not Signings made from German championship v league 2 / conference Fans excitement / support v ridiculous expectations on a different planet to reality now Experienced heads in squad buying into manager Hudson / Whitehead v less Character - Hef v less Pre season v too few games
This team is worse than under Wagner imo individually and massively so as a team
I’ve said before if Chris Powell has been in charge of the promotion team or any other average manager - Robins etc we’d have finished bottom half
What we achieved with Wagner was extraordinary - he warned us not to start to think that was the ordinary. Most on here didn’t listen to him

The first team is not too far off (except Mooy), but compare the squad as a whole, particularly the defence. Maybe we have potential now but a lot less experience.
Under Wagner in defence we had Hudson, Cranie Stankovich and T Holmes-Dennis. The weakest being THD who had about 40 league appearances at League 1 level. 2 experienced model pros and Stankovich.
Whereas against Lincoln we had Stankovich and group of players with less experience than THD.
Payne and Billing were our young midfield hope, both had more experience than O'Brien, Koroma, Brown. We also had Whitehead.
Really fear any injuries or suspensions as it seems we have started the season expecting the young guns to be ready and then decided almost immediately that they are not.

I posted this in another thread:
I think the level of vitriol is commensurate with the negligence that has gone on behind the scenes.
Let's look at what should have been our best line-up from last season:
RVLP Grant Pritchard Mooy Hogg Billing Lowe Kongolo Schindler Smith Lossl
Now compare that to the standard of the XI we have playing for us: Quaner Grant Diakhaby Bacuna Hogg O'Brien Kongolo Elphick Schindler Flo Grabara
Forget about Siewert and Hodgkinson for just a moment and focus purely on the quality difference. If we'd have kept that squad and starting XI together we wouldn't be having the problems we have now. Simple.
Out Billing Depoitre Durm Jorgensen Lossl Mooy Payne Smith Williams
In Bockhorn (downgrade on Smith / Flo) R Brown (downgrade on Mooy) Campbell (yet to be seen) Chalobah (downgrade on Billing) Koroma (downgrade) Grabara Elphick
The crimes of this transfer window are plain for all to see. We've successfully converted our team from a tactically poor mediocre premier league side to a tactically poor shamefully inept paper thin League 1 side by systematically getting rid of our best players, keeping and even promoting our deadwood and replacing quality with youth squad material.
And the worst thing about it is it was completely avoidable. If we'd have planned properly with our finances and made sure we kept as much of the squad together as possible we could have been going in to this season with the required quality to compete.
The damage is already done, Schindler and Kongolo will want out before long, then Grant and Hogg will become unhappy.
We can all be geniuses with hindsight and retrospect but the mistakes that have been made are outrageous, the club is in free fall and the fans have every right to be angry.
Granted I got it wrong with Quaner/Kachunga n the second line-up but people were calling it total bollocks for some reason. The line-ups are almost completely different, losing the players we lost, promoting the dross and recruiting youth has successfully destroyed this club. The damage is done people. The squad is not good enough and we'll need a miracle to not get relegated.

The 11 played tonight compared to Dave wagners 11 what’s the difference the team is exactly the same in quality Really? mbenza on par with palmer and izzy then? Don't think so. Apart from Kongolo the promotion team was way better. No ward, no izzy, no kp, no Mooy,no Wells, no Smith.
