The over riding impression I get from this mess is that the last coach was `pinching` money from the club; getting paid under false pretence of being a football coach
We are not fit enough or organised enough so what has he been doing?
Further more we have a chairman who has said we don't need to sell to survive so -with approx. £30m having been received in fees, why are we shopping at Poundland?
I now think we are embroiled in a relegation battle as who ever comes in has only 18 sub standard championship misfits to work with

Absolute madness

Keep blaming him if it helps, your fucking miles off but if it helps.
Rather have kept him and got rid of half the squad. At the very least he cared and thought that attempts on goal seemed a good idea if you wanted to score a goal.
Today we went back to pointless and toothless possession and finally bored ourselves into two more costly pieces of non defending.
It's Jan's fault.?? How long can we use it as the cover all excuse?

These are elite athletes who are expected to follow there managers instructions and not for example run 10 miles in their spare time outside their training schedule! After Austria the players were great at head tennis and tag though!

But if the team you play are also top professional athletes who are actually coached correctly and have 100% match fitness you’re screwed if you’re 10% off that in a elite environment

to answer the question as to who is responsible for them being fit it is the players responsibility to be as fit as the fitness coach dictates. The coaching set up should have known there was a fitness issue and yet it was not addressed. Blame Siewert all you want for being totally out of his depth but the fact the players are not fit is the fault of the coaching staff.
For Hudson to suggest the players are not fit enough strikes me as trying to deflect the blame.

It’s the same fitness coach we had all along under Wagner - when we were very fit The only difference in the coaching is JS ... under Wagner we had no issue but now there is one MH first decision was to bring back double sessions- so who cancelled these if it wasn’t JS?

Why did none of them say anything? They would have known surely?

Jan was the manager and it was up to him how he managed the team, its no different than you experienced in work when you haven't agreed with decisions your superiors make but you have to go a long with them.

Fair enough, I hadn't seen this and assumed from what others had said it was Jan. We can't blame that if that is the case as we didn't see an adverse affect in that first season in the prem. Do you know where this report has come from about when the double sessions were cancelled, does seem strange as other clubs have adopted this practice

Tbh blaming the previous manager for players being 'unfit' is common place didn't Powell do it when he took the job or Robins? One of them did anyway.
In fairness I think what Hudson has said seems to be the truth the players do look very unfit. This is something that posters have noticed the past couple of weeks and there has been several threads on the issue.

We can't blame that if that is the case as we didn't see an adverse affect in that first season in the prem no we just got progressively worse over time. if you remember we were as fit as feck when we came up but the performances dropped off rather sharpish and we barely clung on first season. We went from the fittest side in the league to the unfittest over the course of a season and were lucky to survive.

Well that season was bloody hard work so it wasn't a surprise it dropped off and more to it than physical fitness. As Deano said in the podcast he did that everybody had given their all and hadn't the strength to do it again. I meant to ask were it was mentioned the double sessions were stopped by Wagner?

It’s the boards fault. Siewart was working in reserve football in Germany and was approached to manage in the Premier league. How could he say no? It’s akin to Tesco approaching me to be the new CEO . Yes would be my reply and I’d take the money for six months and fuck it up. Why not?
