He's gone now so at least show him the good grace of spelling his name correctly, it's Siewert ffs! Siewert Siewert Siewert Siewert Ah, so his name is 'Siewert ffs'? And there was me thinking it was Jan Siewert! Seeing as the OP referred to him only by surname so did I. Duh.

to answer the question as to who is responsible for them being fit it is the players responsibility to be as fit as the fitness coach dictates. The coaching set up should have known there was a fitness issue and yet it was not addressed. Blame Siewert all you want for being totally out of his depth but the fact the players are not fit is the fault of the coaching staff. For Hudson to suggest the players are not fit enough strikes me as trying to deflect the blame.

He will be looking to coach/manage elsewhere.

Keep blaming him if it helps, your fucking miles off but if it helps. Rather have kept him and got rid of half the squad. At the very least he cared and thought that attempts on goal seemed a good idea if you wanted to score a goal. Today we went back to pointless and toothless possession and finally bored ourselves into two more costly pieces of non defending. It's Jan's fault.?? How long can we use it as the cover all excuse? Who is to blame for the players being so unfit? Them being unfit is all from Hudson’s comment yesterday. Nobody has said this before but suddenly it is the reason we are poor. How the hell did they play that first half in that heat at that speed just 2 days since their last match if they are unfit? That was just a smokescreen to cover poor tactics. Very unimpressed with that.

If you aren’t happy with MH’s tactics, that’s fine, but to say they are fit is just not right.

Yeah, it's been commented on numerous times after every game this season.

It wasn't down to fitness that for 45 minutes we dominated the game and still created next to nothing. Sad that Hudson has resorted to blaming the former Head Coach for this and using it as an excuse for not being able to get us to create anything in the last 2 games.
Jan was out of his depth, not even really his fault because who would turn the job down in his position and for that reason I wouldn't class him as the worst manager we've had. Being pedantic about it he wasn't even our manager but he was given a job he wasn't ready for. He did work hard and cared, he didn't just lean against the dugout and jump on the next train as soon as a match finished but he just wasn't ready for such a massive leap.
Hudson isn't ready either and has come across really badly in my opinion. Would he have brought this up if we'd got results in the last 2 games? The players have to take blame for not being fit as well. They know if they're fit enough or not and if you're not you get yourself fit. To some it'll just be a job but to others that want to go further you'd hope they'd be putting in the extra time to get fitter or practice set pieces. You can't tell me one person has said it's fine these 25 footballers are all fit enough if those 25 footballers are thinking no we're not and the coaches are thinking the same and nothing has happened to rectify it it's bollocks.
If Hudson, the rest of the coaching staff and players have just let themselves be unfit then you can't just blame the one man that is no longer here.

Maybe Diakhaby, and he was replaced with the totally useless Mbenza. Pritchard was still running, Chalobah, Hogg. We overcommitted and got caught on the break. Plus with Mbenza a spectator Flo had more to do going forward. When the first goal went in heads dropped and they lost a yard of pace. I do not buy into this unfit thing. Some maybe but not the team as a whole.

I do not buy into this unfit thing. Some maybe but not the team as a whole. I have been watching on TV and a number of times this season they’ve gone in for the close view and you can see players clearly gasping for air. You say they lost a yard of pace after the first goal went in, I don’t agree with that, they were already getting stretched as the game opened up in the second half. The midfield was the obvious one for me, Chalobah and Hogg had lost their influence because they couldn’t continue to break up play and win the ball back. Funnily enough, that coincided with Reading’s game picking up and it was only a matter of time until they scored. Schindler for me has been a standout in defence. Not for good defending, but because he’s been making mistakes that to me are directly related to being tired. He’s let players go past him when they never should have(resulted in deflected goal), he didn’t even attempt to block yesterday’s first goal. These are fatigue related mistakes.

No excuses for fitness. They have 5-6 weeks off and have closed season regimes to follow. It’s scandalous any footballer can be classed as unfit.
