I went down to watch the U!7/18's V Accrington Stanley today before heading to the main game later on. Some players deserve a bit of limelight. There is a post in the development thread who many people might have missed. I'll post the link below. I wanted to make some comments who people might miss. Huddersfield bossed the game, although Accrington were a tough opponent until the 3rd and 4th goal killed their desire. I wanted to highlight some players who were last year U17s who are ready to step up to the U19's/EDT.Plus some players who are pat of the new U17's and been wit the Club for 7week. I agree with the poster in the development thread, there are some talented players in our post-16 system. Josh Austerfield (DCM): he has grown taller since the last time I saw him. Excellent feet, and on the ball. Positional awareness and dominant in his area. I would liken him to Trevor Chalobah in style as as DCM. The lad ran the show. Sam Sharrock-Peplow: he was deployed in defense bu found himself on many attacking and central positions without neglecting his defensive duties. This lad has talent, real talent. Good feet, stronger than expected, and cool under pressured situations. I was very impressed. Central defenders: Nassim Kherbouche and Mustapha Olagunju, were both strong solid and really good on the ball. Both made the odd mistake which is fine, The lads are developing as so there should be on expectation for everything to be 100% (otherwise your name is Matthijs de Ligt). Kherbouche created either the 3rd or 4th goal by stepping up and carrying the ball into midfield (going bast and Accy player) thereby putting each Accy player having to step up out of position, providing a clear channel for the Town player to run through on goal and score. U17's Players in the game Luke Daly: I thought he performed very well. Early times but was bright, good feet and seemed switched on. Ben Midgley: played as a 10, lad did some good stuff. He was quite dynamic, looked to take up attacked positions, passed well and it will be interesting to see how he develops. Myles Bright: Very skillful player and could ride a tackle. The best comparison is Wilfried Zaha and the cage-football players. It was that ability to keep the ball in tight areas under pressure an still get out of it. Darnel Baxter-Alleyne: Not as standout but tall, worked hard and fought for everything in Centre-mid. U18s won 4-2 today against Accrington Stanley. Team was a mix of last season's U17s and this season's U17s group There's some real quality in the U17s and U19
