Wagner's second game, we loose to Middlesbrough having shown a rapid turn around in playing style, standing ovations after 1st & second half! Hudson's Reading game, we loose having shown a rapid turn around in playing style, standing ovation after 1st & second half walked out & negativity rife on here! Give Hudson time & support, he's made a big difference quickly. You can't get fit in a flash, first thing that happens is overtraining if you push too hard too quick.

I thought exactly the same thing ,if this had been a newly installed manager coming in we would have eulogised about the way we played compared with previous performances ,on the negative side though we did not look like scoring either down to chances or individual errors, just the same as under Wagner's reign

I said last night id warmed to him Steve . Ive met him hes a nice guy. But yesterday he had steel in his eyes and i liked that. BUT how does he explain to phil his actions or inactions during the disaster months. ? Rightly or wrongly he will take the team for one more game max . Not a chance phil would (dare) appoint him

The transformation in that Middlesbrough game was stunning. We played well for an hour yesterday without troubling their keeper. Very little to compare the 2 for me I’m afraid.

Yeah. Summed up my thoughts. That should be the way Huddersfield play, but Hudson needs to get us having more of a goal threat this week.... hes having a trial at been manager. A win at Luton and he could get the job.
Bringing in another seiwert could be a massive risk, bringing in someone who wants to play a different way would be a massive risk. Hudson has our style engrained in his management..... it's a case of can he do it rather than if his philosophy is right.
Proven managers have shown they can do it, but will the philosophy match?

He said that from his own experiences that various coaching staff would not speak out for fear of being replaced. If anyone did raise a concern, they were basically told, " Thanks for your input, now go get me a coffee." Not saying this was the case at Town but it could be possible.

It doesn't explain the total lack of fitness, which presumably as first team coach, he was responsible for all by himself.

That's the problem, in any work place, speaking out if turn. Although Hudson would probably have thought to himself and maybe said it to the other coaches 'these guys aren't fit enough' but the buck stopped with Seiwert on that. I assume we have fitness coaches too, what were they telling Seiwert and who came up with the fitness plans?

"Bringing in another siewert could be a massive risk " is this the same siewert youve been eulogising about all year ? For example in your threads "jans the man " and "im still backing jan "

I find it incredulous that people are suggesting the Hudson should have been the one to reign in his manager. Anyone going behind his bosses back telling tales would rightly be considered a bit of a snake, it’s not his responsibility unless he is asked the question. There were many people who should have been asking questions of Jan, Hudson isn’t one of them. Winter, Hoyle, Hodgkinson should have been asking questions, instead they stood behind their man, replaced his assistant and spent the summer telling us what a magnificent coach he was and how happy all the players were. i thought the difference yesterday was quite remarkable and comparable to the borough game with Wagner, I also noted the steel in Hudson’s eyes, he looked emotional and angry post match and I think he has to be a very serious contender. If we’d have scored, and we did have chances, or had a bit of luck things would look a lot different for Hudson. I’m judging him on the performance and it was superb in the first half. Reading couldn’t get the ball from town and the possession stats were crazy in the first half hour. It’s exactly that type of performance that got us promoted.

whoever appointed siewert basically threw away the tried and trusted system wagner had built. I'm not saying that wagners system is perfect, but at least players knew their responsibilities. Apparently we showed a bit of that yesterday but ran out of steam. The system does require a crazy level of fitness and that will take time. Then a new gaffer can come in and the players will already be superfit and used to the system. That's if we appoint a manager who knows his shit this time.

Hudson was 3rd tier below Siewert & a coach, not in charge like now. Next he needs to train quality in & around the box, not easy. Then endurance to get 90+ minutes. If we see those he will be good for me & a safer bet than unknowns. Cost doesn't come into it. He hasn't got DW charisma, but so what if we can play.

Agree mate As critical as I have been of the club MH as a character/coach seems a good un ... we’d be daft not to retain him but given the bad decisions recently who knows

Dr. John is our fitness guy and he would have clear data on fitness levels. I can imagine that there might an issue if his immediate boss was unreceptive. Maybe Hudson and the rest just gave him enough rope because they didn't like him. We don't know what went on but you'd hope that someone who aspired to be manager would remember who pays his wage. Having a head of football might have been handy too.

MH has nothing to do with fitness - it’s like the marketing managing doing the finance directors job We’ve had a fitness coach since Wagner arrived - www.htafc.com/matches/technical-staff/first-team/john-iga/The guys got a PHD (aka is a Dr), a good cv and got the team super fit for Wagner Why he couldn’t do the same for JS suggests that Jan was the changing factor

Just a note on the players not being fit enough, the way Hudson wants to play is much higher intensity than Siewert did. We used preseason to learn Siewert style. The players will have to adapt to the new high intensity their bodies will struggle it may improve when they get a full week of prep for this way of playing.
