Not numb just bored, if I didn't go with my mates I'd have stopped going a long time ago. We make the most of a bad situation by taking the piss. Still enjoy the away games as it's a day out with mates, the result is irrelevant to me really. Me too, i'm just bored. It's like being back under Chris Powell. No enthusiasm anymore.

Having been a fan for 24 years and a season ticket holder to 9; our result has generally dictated my weekend mood. I stoppped watching mid last season and despite having streams to all games this year (I live overseas) i've barely watched any of the dross. The club is in a mess from top to bottom. No leadership from the top; no questions answered about a plan moving forward - or even a transfer strategy. Shocking management and mid management appointments. Atrocious transfer dealings. The results are surely the worst in the country over the last 18 months. I laugh when we concede now and expect late goals. It reminds me of the year we went down from Lge1; just waiting to lose. It's a total shamble and worst than where we were 4 years ago. Things will improve when Gary monk takes the hot seat.

It's a total shamble and worst than where we were 4 years ago. I can't disagree with any of the above and would add we have gone from clear and transparent in our dealings to being open to continued question. When you consider we achieved the impossible in attaining Premier League status the fact we haven't been able to consolidate, let alone build on it is a sad indictment to all those in charge. It is almost like the task was too big for them. Sadly despite all the great things he has done for us DH has to take some responsibility. Much of what went wrong was before he fell ill. What worries me is that we have essentially wasted a pre-season. Surely there were signs that things were unlikely to work out under Jan behind the scenes? The fact Hudson has come out and said we aren't fit enough is truly dreadful. There are surely stats that would have challenged what was going on? There must have been comparable data that raised alarms? On top of this we have a new owner who some are prepared to give time to establish his credentials but most are either lacking trust in or openly hostile to. If we can stabilise and give ourselves a chance until January comes around it will be a great result. At the moment that looks a stiff task. Also in January people are likely to be asked to consider buying season tickets. They can be as cheap as you like but people will not waste their time and cash on something they don't believe in. And that is the real problem, in a short space of time we have gone from being full of belief to having none. I am afraid that is unforgivable. The worst is that we are hoping that those in charge can turn it round but we don't really believe they will. It's an utter cock up on a major scale.

Apathy is rampant and it's understandable. I know we've been crap in the past but you didn't always expect too much from Town as you know there wasn't too much brass and the club seemed to lack ambition but this time it should be different the club are in danger of blowing it PL legacy sky high. Hopefully the new manager can galvinise the players and in turn, galvinise the fans too, keep us up and we try again next season. Take this one on the chin.

That looks like a plus at the minute, ironically Dean Hoyle bought the club to pull us all out of this negative mess ten years ago, and sells it to return in one swoop!

It's an utter cock up on a major scale. to be fair if we recruit the right gaffer and results come some of this shitshow will be forgotten which is a shame. I agree to a large extent but we can't paper over the cracks and we must learn from the mistakes. A new manager has to work for 4 months with what he has. On the positive there is a good spine to the team, which really should enable us to stay in the league. However, getting the balance that gets us results until January won't be easy, but it is possible. January will then tell if we have a strategy and plan to move us forward in the longer term. If we had a clear strategy in May it isn't very evident now. Fair enough people get it wrong but the next appointment needs to admit we got it wrong and we are still looking up rather than downwards. My concern is that we are reacting, again, and not working to a plan. To be fair until we see who we appoint and what we are told we don't know yet, but I want to see some evidence we have learned and are moving forward.

Guess you could say that there no longer is a legacy of making the greedy league, because you have to spaff all the cash on overpaid wankers and agents, so as to not look completely out of your depth while you're there. And we prove that ain't no guarantee anyway. Would love it, if that's the case, that somebody just bloody says it.

Saw a weeds fan who asked me why we wasted all our money and he thought Pritchard was poor for the outlay. He then said weeds would play a full team tonight v Stoke. Contrast this to our approach? I hate to say it but even weeds can't understand our mess.

The town team that played Reading that night
Steer Davidson Lynch Hudson Cranie Huws Billing Dempsey Bunn Wells Paterson
Lynch better than Elphick Cranie better than Flo Billing would be in our first 11 Wells would be in and around first team Paterson would walk into a first 11.
Pretty worrying when 5 of those players would genuinely improve us. Could argue emyr huws would get into our squad aswell.

Still enjoy the away games as it's a day out with mates, the result is irrelevant to me really. Totally relate to this But my mates are so fed up that last week I was on my own. If that doesn’t change I’ll be having a rethink very soon What a chuffing mess we’ve made of it. For all Deanos ‘we won’t blow our budget ‘. We would have struggled to make a bigger mess of things Personally can’t see a way out of it. New manager needs to be a miracle worker as the players have simply given up Don’t be surprised if in a year or two we end up on Portsmouth’s position or even worse Bolton’s Same here. My kids don’t want to go to the games, and not do my mates kids. Upshot on Saturday was that me and the blokes I go with met at the Walkers Arms, had a few jars, and to a man could not be bothered going to the match as we knew what would happen. All Season Ticket holders, kids included. We all ended up at Golcar United and had a right laugh with numerous other lads who but for the apathy would normally go watching town.

I went on to explain on another thread. These are not plastics. 3 of the adults and 5 of the kids are 400 plus points Very worrying time Back in the Powell days I stopped going away after a single point in something like 15 games. Not sure what my current tally is. But having barely missed an away day in three seasons it’s pretty crap. Role on Saturday. Luton Town away. UTT

People are allowed to vote with their feet you know.. We have become a shambles in a very short space of time.. The premier lg money has gone.. We are on a downward spiral.. I think its fair to say lots of fans feel the club has let them down.. Nit delivered on promises.. And fooked up the golden ticket handed to us by the genius of david wagner.. Its difficult to gather enthusiasm to attend matches when your team has become serial losers..wheres the fun? Wheres the entertainment? Whats the point? If you are happy to attend no matter what thats great.. But dont knock those that choose not to..

I’m not one for complaining at not getting tickets to Old Trafford or Anfield, not do I think I’m Towns No. 1 fan. Fact is I’ve watched Town on and off for various reasons (playing being the main reason for the off times) since the late 80’s when Town were a lot worse than they are now. My reason for going is I work hard though the week and it’s my time to enjoy with my kids and/or mates. My kids don’t want to go, in essence because they want to see goals and be excited. I had the questionable luxury of being able to run around the east terrace when the game was crap, they have to seat bored stupid in their seats watching us huff and puff. I make no apology for thinking that on a hot Saturday afternoon, watching Golcar with my mates who are in the same situation as me was a more appealing option. Coddington can say what he likes from his moral high ground. Bury aren’t in their position because of fans like me, and my attending or otherwise won’t stop Town being in the same position through total mismanagement. If Codd wants to use the Bury analogy, it ought to be on the threads relating to our finances/lack thereof.

As opposed to the “i’m a super fan and anyone who doesn’t do what I do should hang their heads / doesn’t deserve the club line? Both wearing depending on your viewpoint.
It’s a thread about the apathy that has crept in, and it has. Suggesting that those who chose to have a weekend off deserve the club to go to the wall is plain nonsense. For what it’s worth, I haven’t been down yet this season, the first two games I was in Lanzarote, again with my family and friends, who are mainly season ticket holders too.
I presume you’d rather we didn’t come back down? which we will be by the way.
