I can see us winning enough games to scrape up but only if we invest in the team in January. At the moment our inability to create and score is killing us. It is a vicious circle, fail to score, concede, heads down, lose.
The best we can hope for is staying in the league, if we don't score goals that will not happen.
If we go down everything achieved will have been tossed away. I also don't see any easy way back either if that happens.

As shown by both Villa and Norwich, you can have bad starts and still achieve promotion. I don't think the players we have are that bad with the correct coaching. Let's see where we are in another 5 or so games.

Anywhere above 18th would be good considering the state we are in.

Our spine is solid our wider options (both forward and back) are less consistent. We also lack a real character with the ability to drive and change games. The squad balance is weak overall.

The focus should be on survival. Backs to the wall. Reading looked liked physical specimens...as always we looked like physical wrecks. Rotten trees dont spring to life. I would drop Hogg...honestly...its just not working. We go to the side and don't probe, it goes back central and then the other side and no penetration. Too much dithering, too slow a build up. Centrally our attacking stats are the worst in the division...like the last two seasons. The crosses are appalling, hit the first man and not enough come from central midfield to get on the end of stuff anyway. So easy for Reading, sit back and absorb, two rows of four with a cig paper between them...then break-out. We keep repeating what is not working...and repeating stupidity is regarded as madness.

I said i would give us 10 games to see where we are and then we will have a better idea of the possibilities. Right now i wouldn't say anything higher than mid table but then if a manager comes in with a new backroom staff... then who knows.

All depends on who we get in as manager.
We are so predictable and dull to watch at the minute i honestly fear we could face the drop if the appointment isn't right.

Keep the faith! I see no way we will finish top 10, that was my prediction and hope before the season started. Currently in my opinion we are the worst team in the league, but I think we will scrap somehow to finish 18th 19th

Yes, as often happens in football a new man comes in and transforms a set of players who previously couldnt or wouldnt perform, personally i think we`ll gradually improve but nothing is certain.

More chance of me, making a team, submitting it to the FA, getting approval to play in the sky bet Championship than Town finishing top 10 this season.

Anyone who thinks we will go up this season must be either drunk or stoned.
Right now I think top 20, probably between 15th and 20th. Any better than that and I would be very surprised.
No manager is going to come in and turn this around overnight. There is plenty of time this season to do ok but with the start we have given ourselves I would be happy with 15th and very surprised to do any better than 10th.

Might just survive, hell of alot of games to go, tbh i dont really care. Feels like we are a shambles, its so boring to watch us, one win this year. Absolutely awful.

Top.. Can't wait for these disastrous pre season friendlies to finish, and the proper league matches to start.

At this moment in time we dont look like scoring a goal never mind getting a win. I'd say we are relegated unless the new guy has a magic wand or we sign a shed load of players in January. Terrible football with a depleted squad, not going to be easy, but lets start again and get fit

21st or above would be nice but if Bolton & Bury go to the wall we may even survive in 22nd or 23rd?
