Saw this the other day- www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c98182zz490oVery sad story about the demise and death of Kevin Bird , badly affected by CTE from repeatedly heading the ball. When I saw it I had a vague memory of him being a Town player at some time and sure enough having checked the database he was back in 1983, but he only made the one appearance before being released. |

Damian Duff has won the league of Ireland title as manager of Shelbourne last night with a dramatic 2-0 win away at Derry City on the last match of the season anything less than a win would have handed Shamrock Rovers the title as they beat Waterford 2-1, if you are wondering why this is in here I was reading an article on Gerry Murphy where he said Duff played one game for our u14's when we were looking to sign him. The link is tenuous but if Gerry said it its good enough.

Graham Bailey- who was traced as Town's oldest surviving player a few years ago by HTSA, and presented with a Town shirt with his name on the back by Boothy for his 101st birthday, has recently passed at the age of 104.
