Tv/reply/anything. You’re right the Keane on Haaland was bad, particularly given the fact it was blatant retribution and later admitted; ridiculous! But, honestly, the Saunders one is a stinker. No back story of previous fouls on team mates or verbals whilst down injured; just a hate filled lunge. I like the conspiracy that he’s tried to have evidence of it removed. If only we could find it to compare! That Saunders one on Paul Elliott was a shocker, really nasty. The worst one I've seen was by the horrible twat Gary Bennett (ex Wrexham), playing for Chester in a cup tie at Sheff Wed in the mid 80s. I remember watching it on Sportsnight on the BBC, it was a midweek replay. He launched himself at the Wednesday centre half, a young kid called Ian Knight, I think. Awful, horrific tackle that broke his leg in seven places. You could hear the snap on the TV. Bennett should have been banned for life for it. I remember it. Jimmy Hill desperately tried to make a case for the defence on sportsnight because he was a lower division player. In some ways admirable but complete bollox. Should have been since die

Here it is: The Ben Thatcher/Pedro Mendes one has to be up there. Or down there, however you want to put it. John Helm. Great commentator.

Can we comment on this thread if that's the first time we've seen it?

Watson asked for it, he’d just elbowed Paul Reid the cheating @@@@. Remember the game well, I had an argument with my mates father in law and the Grandad who were both Bradford fans (my mates a town fan) walking back to the car after the game!!! They were having a go at Gray and didn’t even see the elbow

I found it on YouTube, but the sound of the tackle is nasty. Then they play on for minutes. I'm not too squeamish with injuries but wasn't a pleasant watch, it's the worst foul i have seen.

My first ever away game, my dad and uncle took me. I seem to remember it being fairly chaotic after the game.

I remember Watson trying exactly the same thing on Vaesen after he came back. Never really seemed to get much of a mention.

Pity they never show the actual build up to that challenge and what went on just before it.

Doesn’t look quite as terrible from that angle... still bad though!! ...there used to be very clear footage available, showing Saunders' deliberate stamping action....and then the SMIRK immediately afterwards...

I remember Watson trying exactly the same thing on Vaesen after he came back. Never really seemed to get much of a mention. Did this take place in the back of the goal after Bradford had scored? I remember Vaesen trying to hang on the ball and a bit of srap developed. Watson ran in from the six yard box, lifted his foot and slammed it into Vaesen's knee. The only thing that saved him was that he had his back to Watson so the blow was absorbed by the natural bend of the knee. If it had been side-on then his career could have ended there. All this after Watson had claimed that his litigation over Gray's tackle was, "So that no other player would have to go through what I've been through!" - vile, lying hypocrital c***!!!

Watson should be grateful for the Gray challenge. It gave him an excuse for being shite, and without it nobody would even remember who he was! (Tongue firmly in cheek, before anyone starts)
