Billionaires were queueing out of Deans office and along the front of the ticket office i heard. From abroad too, so maybe even trillionaires , some of them. They were all going to give Dean his money back in full AND turn us into the next Man City, but weirdly Dean decided we'd all be better off with Phil. Hoyle told us there was significant interest from overseas Hodgkinson told us Hoyle contacted him and made Hodgkinson a proposal Hoyle must have wanted a fan to have it despite leaving us brassic and on the verge League One.

Significant interest could mean anything and more to the point it could mean nothing. Its not viable offers. Its not even offers. It could mean as little as an enquiry.
Point being if it was a good offer, one that he thought would benefit the club whilst repaying him , then why would he decide against it and make PH a proposal?
You have to presume there either were no offers, or if there were he decided it wasn't right for him or the club. Personally i think Dean Hoyle's got more than enough credit in the bank to trust on that one.

And people assume 'overseas' translates as an oligarch, Arab country or american billionaire. Bradford had significant interest from abroad ( Germany ) when they were sold and it went through in the end. Hows it going for them?
It could have been Potless Pepe from San Sebastian who would double your season ticket price first and foremost who was showing significant interest for all we know.

Love the tune...still don't see it after you have told me. Man Utd do it. Solksjaer’s at the wheel. All the more reason not to post it on here then. I used to go to Old trafford in the late 60's with my uncle. They are part of the reason football is dying. I hope they go bust.

Ok let's take the piss out of the owner, what a shame Dean didn't sell to one of the other three dozen billionaires desperate to buy the club. Billionaires were queueing out of Deans office and along the front of the ticket office i heard. From abroad too, so maybe even trillionaires , some of them. They were all going to give Dean his money back in full AND turn us into the next Man City, but weirdly Dean decided we'd all be better off with Phil. Sat next to one of them on the train back to Manchester airport. He said he was gonna knock down the ground and replace it with one that would make the Spurs ground look like Elland Rd. Then he was gonna sign Messi, Bale and Pogba and we’d be in the Champions League before we knew it. He said we’d be the West Riding Galaticos. Changed his mind because of the long walk to canalside from his taxi and to then make things worse he was busting for a piss and there was someone in the bog. Signing would have meant he missed his plane home. So close!

Hoyle told us there was significant interest from overseas Hodgkinson told us Hoyle contacted him and made Hodgkinson a proposal Hoyle must have wanted a fan to have it despite leaving us brassic and on the verge League One. What I can't quite grasp is why Hoyle didn't sell to someone who actually had money. By the sounds of it there was genuine interest from the states a bloke that owns the Washington capitals and Washington wizards franchises. Yes he wouldn't be a fan but would surely have the funds to take the club forward. The club has gone backwards under Phil but he was come in at a difficult time. He needs to really clear out deadwood here like Hudson, winter and Marsh. Bring in someone who will get the fans on side. At the moment we are plummeting towards league one. I fear this season is going to be very much like last season. Its hard to stomach. Can see Phil selling up at the end of the season leaving us a midtable league one club with no money. We are in deep shit.

Do you know, some of the shite that I read on this forum makes me fucking vomit. Hoyle left us brassic and on the verge of league one? He also took us on a journey that very few thought was ever possible and it may never happen again, but I watched my team beat Manchester United and it felt bloody good. Hoyle owned the club and he had the right to sell to whoever he wanted. If you don't like his decision then tough shit, fucking get over it!

They made a point of stating the fact that there was serious interest from overseas when announcing the sale to Phil. Why do that if it wasn’t right for the club without stating it wasn’t right for the club? It’s just opened them up for where we are now.

It obviously wasn't right because it wasn;t them that was being introduced!
And again interest is just that.. interest. Its no more than that.
Overseas just means not britiain. It doesn;t mean it was a billionaire with an unbelievable pot of money to chuck at the club.
Ive no idea why it was mentioned,. It was a mistake ( probably an attempt to big the club up a bit ). They should have known people would jump to the conclusion that for some bizarre, unexplainable reason Dean turned down the mega fortune of an oligarch wanting to fund us into the Champions League for the 'impoverished' non wealth of PH.

On the flip side we don't know if it was more serious or if they had serious wealth. Hoyle might quite simply have decided he wanted a fan to own the club as they have love for the club and for him that over rode any foreign investments. No one knows.

On the flip side we don't know if it was more serious or if they had serious wealth. Hoyle might quite simply have decided he wanted a fan to own the club as they have live for the club and for him that over rode any foreign investments. No one knows. Dean decided it was the best option for the club in his opinion and of course the best option for himself, who knows if he was right. He's not god and none of us are fortune tellers. He was obviously a very motivated seller and I would imagine selling to Phil was as straightforward as it could be. At this moment in time and at the time of the announcement it seemed as if Phil didn't have the required funds to take the club forward or even maintain its status. Hopefully that isn't the case but at this moment in time it looks a bit like it might be. Seems to be a perfect storm at the moment, no proper manager since January, 2 assistants been and gone, continuation of cloud cuckoo land recruitment and seemingly a desperation to bring in as much money as possible whilst slashing the wage bill. Saying daft things like three window transitions, one out one in, unbelievable offers etc isnt helping morale internally or externally on the PR front. Any one of those issues on its own would be surmountable but the fact we have them all is the reason we're bottom of the league. It's all about the new manager now and possibly some panic buying in January, problem is we know from experience players don't want to join a sinking ship. Amazing how quickly football can change, already wondering how on earth we're gonna win a match and that's at this level.

Get in bed with a tart, don;t be surprised if you catch a dose!
If they didn;'t get it in writing that PP would pay any fine for their marketing stunt, then they have been very naive.
