It's happening, someone has told me as well that's he's been seen. To be fair cameo told us two days ago - and he always has the word up on what's happening Maynardblue also told us we had our man - without naming a name - and he's always spot on too I wonder if Cameo took up MC Hammer style trousers, if he'd still be able to wear the codpiece?

I'm very pleased if this appointment if true. When Lincoln played us recently, you could see they were organised and every player seemed to know their role whereas Town looked lost and unsure. Credit to the new Chairman for getting this over the line, and if it doesn't work out, those of us who agree with this appointment can't complain.

As now looks likely, this is an appointment that fills me with greater confidence than had we gone for some of the usual suspects being bandied around.
Big Sam etc. would have largely been in it for the pay packet & whilst these lads will have had some similar angle financially, they still appear young & hungry for the challenge (which at the moment we certainly are). Far more so than when we took on the young & hungry Lee Clarke, who in hindsight was probably never cut out to be a Mgr, maybe too emotional.
The Cowleys you get 2 for the price of one. I admit to knowing very little about them, but from a HTFC perspective this looks to be a forward thinking move, as opposed to a stabilisation one.

Can't decide whether Im pleased or nervous about it. Big step up for them going from League 2 to Championship with just a brief few weeks of League 1 in between. Their track record is very impressive, no doubt about that, but so was Nathan Jones's when Stoke took him from Luton.

All very true, and there’s no certainties in football, but at least it is exciting. That, alone, is something we haven’t had for a long time. I don’t think it will be dull.

Excited by this appointment, there's a lot of the season left still, but people will have to be patient if it doesn't click immediately.

There's a good chance we'll be dumped on the bottom after Saturdays games, so it all makes for a nice rounded, the only way is up scenario for the game on Sunday.
Be good for the Sky cameras, 2 new Mgrs...
Be funny if they do Monk over like the last time he was here.

They wouldn't have been my choice but they already appear to have the fan base onside and sometimes wildcards come up trumps. Hopefully this can be a line in the sand. We have 40 games to stay up

They’ll improve the club I’m sure. The feel good factor in that most fans are positive about it, unlike most of towns managerial appointments in recent years, could give them a short term lift too. But if not I’d definitely give these time.

Cowley ‘I don’t think HTFC is right for us’ PH ‘Just pop round for a chat before the weekend’ Cowley ‘Go on then, but it doesn’t look like the right opportunity for me’ . . .
PH ‘thanks for coming, now listen: we’re just having a brief transition and clearing out the deadwood. We have millions in the transfer budget and are looking to rebuild from top to bottom, we have a new training facility on the way and another season of parachute payments ahead. Join us, steady the ship and next year we go for it, big time.’ Cowley ‘I’m in’.

We have 40 games to stay up This is the key for me. If you'd written that and there were 15 games left I'd be nervous. But you can rise like a phoenix in this league, and even if it takes half those games to get the players on their wavelength, we've still got 60 points to play for.

In one of those tactical videos he talks a lot about using an appropriate system to fit the 11. With that in mind, what actually are our strengths? The identity we had will now be a thing of the past as they stamp their authority on the style of play. Will he play a 4-4-1-1 with Mounie and Grant as the front 2? Interesting times (again...at last).

Interesting: The 40-year-old was originally offered the job as head coach rather than manager. But Cowley wanted assurances over his role and his brother, Nicky, being appointed assistant manager. It is also understood that Cowley was offered the Sheffield Wednesday job last Wednesday but rejected it due to reservations over how much control he would have in the recruitment of players. Cowley broke the news of his departure to the players and staff at Lincoln on Monday morning. He told Sportsmail that he felt it was ‘very important to leave on a positive note’ but that he couldn’t turn down Huddersfield and ‘die wondering what might have been’. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7443177/Danny-Cowley-agrees-Huddersfields-new-manager-making-Lincoln.html

How long will it take our risk-averse, negatively-minded, defensive squad to adapt to life in the opponent's half of the field? And will it mean a complete sea-change throughout the entire club where, right down into the academy, everyone is even now still being coached to play WagnerBall?

Going by what they have said previously at Lincoln about having control of most things, it looks like he wanted similar here even though working under a director of football.

To keep repeating what club has made clear we do not have a DOF but a Head of Football, and the Manager works WITH and not FOR the HOF. A definite distinction.

But we don't operate with a Director of Football. David Webb is Head of Football Operations - there is distinct difference. It sounds as though the Cowleys wouldn't have considered us if we operated with the Director of Football model!
