Got me thinking here how we’d all love to see that smirk wiped off Monk’s face on Sunday but what other opposing managers down the years have we really hated? And I mean REALLY hated, not the little nobs like Lee Johnson, cos I am drawing a blank for some reason. Can’t even think of any leeds twat & that just can’t be right! Looking forward to a good game tomorrow guys. It will be an interesting one with regards to both Clubs having new managers. The Cowleys are a great appointment in my opinion. Having said that, I am very happy with our appointment of Monk also. The result is very tricky to call. We have been very inconsistent so far this season. Very impressive away at Reading and home to Barnsley. But dreadful versus Luton, Preston and QPR. Who knows!

It's looking like we could be on for the second highest attendance in the this weeks championship fixtures tomorrow. Derby had over 25k last night.

Apparently the training this week has been about stripping things back to basics. I suspect that Mbenza was always absent sick when these matters were discussed previously in his career. He can run, he can cross, he can shoot. Just imagine if one of our PE teachers had the bright idea of quietly explaining, in bite sized chunks, what he should be doing on the pitch.... I've not given up on him.

Since it's all getting a bit exciting around this neck of the woods I thought ide give my two penneth on formation and personnel.
3-4-1-2
Grabara
Schindler Elphick Kongolo
Diakhaby Hogg Chalobah J Brown
Pritchard
Mounie Grant
The three at the back allow us to play two up top while keeping bodies in midfield. With Pritchard linking the play and Chalobah advancing with Hogg sitting we could have the makings of a dynamic centre. I dont rate this middle three with only a single striker, there just arent enough goals coming from other areas, necessitating three at the back and hopefully giving Grant some much needed support at his side, out wide and from deep.
In relation to the wing backs I would go forward with Brown and see how his level progresses under the new management. On the right Flo has to go and I've picked Diakhaby due to him being our only winger who has looked dangerous, albeit briefly, this season. Traore at Wolves, although a superior player, is the model I would look at for Diakhaby to emulate as a winger turned wing back.
With Hogg on the right of the middle 3 he would provide the extra protection that may not be required with the more defensive Brown on the left of Chalobah playing as an 8.
Other advantages of this system are the extra center back for defensive and offensive set plays (an area we have to improve in), Pritchard can drop deeper to shore up the middle as Grant will have an outlet in Mounie (who with the right guidance could be a decent player at this level), Chalobah can maraude more regularly without us being left open which would occur in a 4-4-2.
Just my two penneth.
The beginning of a new era, UTT!

If we go with 2 up front surely it'd be Grant and Campbell due to both being available to train all week

It's not like Flo has done any defending of late or have I missed something? I think Mouine would suit Grant much more than Campbell and I believe there is a classier player in there somewhere, hopefully the Cowleys can find him. Pritchard has proven his quality at this level and I would persevere with us starting afresh. What's your thinking for tomorrow's personnel?

Not sure Mounie will start just because of how much he has traveled this week. May also be a bit soon after the new guys coming in to change it so radically. We may play two up front but I think it would be Grant and Campbell. I also think we will play four at the back and I think Flo will start.

What I'd like Grabara, Flo, Schinds, TK, Jayden, Hogg Chalobah, O'Brien/Bacuna, Mbenza, Reece Brown, Grant in a 4-3-2-1 as I think Isaac could do a job behind the striker as he can pick a pass and ping a shot What I think it'll be is confusing due to the internationals getting back later and Elphick doing the press conference. He wouldn't be near the team for me but his appearance would suggest otherwise so I suspect it'll be near your team but with Flo on the right and Fraizer for Mounie

This selection isnt what I think will happen, based on current form or match fitness its what I would try and implement with the available personnel at our disposal. Yes put Flo in and see how he looks as a wingback, who knows it might suit him, he has always looked too lightweight and out of his depth while he has been in English football for me. I want Chalobah to be able to commit forward regularly and this formation gives him the license which a 4-4-2 does not and a 4-2-3-1 does not suit Grant. These two have been our standout outfield players, they need a formation that accommodates them and gets the best from them.

Based on the Cowleys seemingly liking to play 1-4-2-3-1... I would go as follows:
Grabara
Brown Kongolo Schindler Flo
Chalobah Hogg
Grant Pritchard (O'Brien if not fit as I haven't seen R.Brown) Diakhaby
Mounie
Subs... Schofield, Elphick, Stankovic, Kachunga,, R.Brown, O'Brien, Campbell
