So these guys are Manager and Assistant Manager - not joint managers, yet we talk about them (and they themselves) as the collective, the Cowley Brothers. How clear is the line on that? It was always Alex Ferguson as Utd Manager, with Kidd. Not Ferguson and Kidd, even though they were that duo. It was Morecambe and Wise, Not Eric with Ernie. I get confused and seems some media are confused at how to approach them / him / it.... Why are they not just joint managers?

They split their collective money between them but as far as day to day responsibilities are concerned they seem to have a protocol in place that has served them well so far, job titles are probably a bit irrelevent to them. Some managers always seem to have a preferred 2nd in command. Clough was never quite the same without Taylor, Jacko perhaps not the same without Yorath.

I may be wrong, but are you able to have 2 managers at a club? I think 1 of them has to be the 'assistant manager'

I would compare the way they work with Clough and Taylor ( not in stature obviously) Danny is obviously the mouthpiece as was seen at the press conference, but based on this they do seem to have a tried and tested way of working together.

The telling point will be who now sits in Siewert’s office. Unless they alternate😀

Pretty simple isn't it, Danny manager, Nicky his assistant. Danny is the Town manager, no harm in referring to them as the Cowleys though since they're brothers. Like Jacko and Taff, very much a double act but each with his own title and responsibilities. Quite unique I think in football and their's is a great story, lets hope there's a few more brilliant chapters to come starting with righting this sinking ship and steering it back toward the PL.

From what I saw at Wycombe on Saturday it was Nicky that was the slightly more vocal. Danny was vocal as well though, and they often discussed things together as well as with coach Boom Boom. The 4th official will be busy. They were both up on their feet all the time, often outside their box, and Danny got booked for hassling the 4th official. Definitely a double act.

I figured they were like the Coen brothers used to be.. There's no hierarchy but only one takes the director's credit because that's how things were generally done in their industry.

Archie Gemmill might have been one of them.

Leeds used to have joint Managers regularly.
Or is just my recollection that the number of times they changed Mgrs there was an overlap period?

I like the fact that one of them is manager. Joint managers don’t work in my opinion.

I've always wondered what kind of success Andy Goram would have enjoyed as the sole joint manager of Rangers after the 'There's only two Andy Gorams' chant.
