Controversially, IF Flo could learn how to cross, I think he'd be decent again in a 3-5-2. The bloke has an engine and gets up and down nicely. The problem is that him and Elphick on the right of a back 4 is so exposed.
Get Kongolo in a central 3, you've got more cover and instantly Elphick and Flo looks better.
IF Flo can learn the cross, get Mounie up top with Grant. May score from open play then....
Back 3 also means Mpenza and Diakhaby are nowhere near the first team!

Hadergjonaj and Elphick were to blame for both of the goals. Hadergjonaj let both crosses come in and Elphick wasn't marking his man on each occasion. I can't see what Flo could have done for the cross for the second goal other than just fly into no. 7 and hope to win the ball. Must say, Flo was in no man's land for what should have Wednesday's third goal where a simple ball was played inside him. It's a trust issue on that 2nd goal. Flo had been run ragged by Harris for most of the game so Mbenza seemed to come on to help double up to stop the flow of balls in from the left. Problem here is that a centre mid has noticed this and drifted out to receive. In fairness Chalobah is too deep as well (again due to Flo being done several times already). Good play from Bannan as well tbf. He's the kind of thinking footballer we really miss now that Mooy has left. The first one Flo was dire on.

Flo still only had one man to hit each time cos no one bothered to get in to help Campbell Problem with the last bit is that is Mbenza is the best passer of a ball we have.

TBF Fella I don't think that is a controversial view at all. It's just there has been next to no evidence of it happening in over two years. I struggle to imagine why it would now. It would appear much easier a task in theory to try and teach Diakhaby where he should be on a pitch and where he should be looking to go to at any point in time. If that happens he's definitely got potential to be a player. TBF though I'm not holding my breath.

It makes sense. I have frequently advocated a 3-5-2 on this forum. I think it would make us more solid. The aim of the game needs to be clean sheets. If we can get sorted defensively, we’ll be fine.

Given Flo's crossing "ability" it surely can't be him and can't begin to think who it can be on the left (not Grant surely). If we play 4-2-3-1 not sure who the 1 up top could be nor who is out wide left (again not at all convinced by Grant there). At the moment, every formation you look at seems wrong because we haven't options in key areas of that formation. I think with the players we have, we NEED two up front and the only formation which doesn't leave us horribly exposed on the left is 4-4-2. Whilst we'd be shoe-horning someone in there, it isn't as exposed in that area as he would be in either 4-2-3-1 or 3-5-2. Got to be worried about Flo ar RB in a 4-4-2 but at least having someone in front of him means we aren't totally relying on him for the attacking option. EDIT sorry coked up the quote. London terrier said the first bit Hypotenuse the second.

Here we go.... blaming Flo, probably one of our only positives today. No one has mentioned how woeful Kongolo was defending today. If it wasn't for lucky reflections etc Flo could have had 3 assists today I'd agree, we know he's not great at the back but he's one of our only positives going forward, he's the only player that ever looks for a cross rather than cutting it back. Doesn't help we now have Elphick covering for him.

Haderjonay is not a footballer or a defender, hopefully Nick and Danny see this now.

I'm going to compare Grant to their No. 7. For the first goal, Flo was in a good position, 7 played a perfectly waited ball to the line and then put in an equally impressive cross. Grabara, Elphick and Schindler are all stood within 3 yards of each other - none of them attacked the ball. Grant had over five attempts in the same relative position but provided lame balls each time that the defender found easy to block. Flo could have defended those as well. Second goal. Flo was in a good position again, gave himself an extra half a yard to the line to stop the cross and sprint to the line. Mbenza came along side to double up to stop no. 7 coming inside. He then plays a ball into 10 yards of open space for an easy cross. Hogg, where has he? Marking space on the penalty spot, Chalobah? level with MBenza in empty space. Great cross comes in, Schindler doesn't track the man, Elphick stood like a statue. Why does Hogg always pass to Flo? He's the only one that always moves into space and opens up for the ball, the crowd got on Flos back after about 70 minutes and he stopped, all of sudden, we could barely get the ball out of out half. I don't know which game some of you were watching but I thought Kongolo, Schindler and Elphick were all worse than Flo yesterday - Schindler was probably worst given Kongolo had a few attempts on goal to balance his diabolical ball control (catching a ball that bounced over his head that hadn't gone out of play? come on!). To imply that both goals were all Flo's fault is just pure fantasy. Weighted

(There is also some pants ass grammar in there..... incorrect use of commas, lack of semi colons etc. I could criticise my own writing all day.)
