When I saw the thread title I thought it was Webb’s new marketing plan to offload Diakhaby, Mbenza and Elphick!

Wonder if it would have been cheaper to not get a season ticket...

“£70 worth of tickets for just £30”
Interesting phrasing...did they mean to reveal that one of the three games is just £10 to pay in for any seat?? (the Middlesbrough match as it happens).
(I thought Sean had a queue of people when dismissing those who were questioning season card renewal?!)

All of that queue stuff was generated by “fans” only interested because we were in the Premier League imo.

Does the offer include a free blanket?

£30 for three games is daylight robbery at the minute.

When are the powers that be going to put the club on a sound financial footing. Hoyle with his ridiculously cheap season ticket prices created a precedent which will smack us in the face. Maybe not next season but the season after we’re going to have to increase prices by 50% for an inferior product, just after our benevolent ex chairman has got his £49m back. We seem to knee jerk from one bad decision to another; this initiative will further damage full price sales come preseason.

Put season ticket prices up and there will be no one there. Even the current price is poor value for the tripe that is being served up.

Been saying it for years. Cheap season cards devalue the product. Cheap tickets have done a lot of good for the club; generated a decent atmosphere, filled the ground, secured a new generation of fans and undoubtedly increased revenue. But it also responsible for a lot of the selfish, entitled and disrespectful fury that is circulated at the moment. There's a lack of context and perspective, that's for sure. I would even go as far as saying that it is reflected in the microcosm that is DATM.

Been saying it for years. Cheap season cards devalue the product. I agree in principal, for example I believe people should be given an invoice following NHS treatment - not to pay, it's "free" at the point of use of course, we all pay in taxes to help fund it, but if people saw how much it would have cost them for a cast putting on their broken arm or to have a saucepan that was stuck on their kids head removed or whatever, without the NHS, they would value it more and treat it better. In the past I've attended "do's" with a free bar and because it's "free" (some) people abuse it, in the extreme, instead of their regular pint of mild it's a double brandy chaser, pint of mild and a cigar, resulting in countless half finished drinks and un smoked cigars at closing time. With regards to Town ticket prices, virtually every other club in the Championship or PL would say ours are cheap ( ignore the last 18 months when results have been a joke, the first year in the PL and promotion before that are better examples ), my own opinion is they are about right, the prices some charge, noteably Sheff Weds and Beeston are far too expensive, if we charged similar I guess our sales would halve, following a good season, even lower following a bad one.

Because the club offers fans a fantastic deal to try & fill the lower tier things are getting worse? I know things are shit footballing wise but to use a ticket offer as a stick to beat the club with is just fucking pathetic!

I'll bet folk don't whinge at Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys etc. when they're filling their trollies with half price offers...
I'm not sure how people can have a go at cheap season ticket prices, as someone else has said, it's probably drawn more fans in, not just because of the PL shindig, just that it makes it more affordable for people who otherwise would have struggled to pay £400+ for one.
It's football, it should still be a game that's accessible to all & I think our club does a lot to try and make that happen.

Only on DATM would you get people complaining ticket prices are too low.

It’s simple business maths. Sell 12000 season tickets at £400 each or 18000 at £250. 12000 clients walking around the ground buying lottery, tops, drinks or 18000?

While it's commendable the club doing this offer and making football affordable. You do have to question the timing
If the idea is to get some potential fans down to try it out in the hope they'll like it and want to come back it's highly likely to struggle

Agree with pretty much all of this. Our season tickets aren’t “cheap”, they are at what is a reasonable and appropriate level for the product being offered. That other clubs are getting away with selling something at a premium compared to its real value is neither here nor there. Agree on NHS too...have recently come off the back of some veterinary treatment in the last month and a bit. Covered by insurance but we’ve SEEN the invoices and seeing how much blood tests, vet consult sessions, ultrasound scans, xrays, drugs and IV fluids etc cost is eye watering...same for humans isn’t going to be cheaper. We’ve had around £6500 of treatment in that six weeks or so...without insurance or without NHS for humans, it’s a service that costs enough that people would be dying on the street without it. We are both paid well above the national average and even then if had to suddenly pay £6k+ for treatment at short notice (with no guarantee), then it wouldn’t be an easy thing to fund.

It isn’t £250 is it it’s £200 after vat and how many are kids for £100. So we sell 16,000 say £175 = £2.8m = Mooys wages next year. My issue was actually more the 6000 who bought cheap cards last season to watch Man Utd & Liverpool.

IF we get relegated the TV money will run out (ignoring the fact £49m is already assigned to pay back DH) then our primary revenue will be Gate receipts which will be probably less than £2m.

Having sat in that god awful stand for one game last season I can honestly say that, regardless of the quality entertainment or not, I wouldn't accept 3 free tickets. I wouldn't spend a penny to sit in there.
