You were doing well until your Town prediction 😀 Just my opinion mate, I think 12th for us is generous aswell I can't see us storming a surge up the table but I do think the cowley brothers will do enough to steady the ship and push us on.

You were doing well until your Town prediction 😀 That's both funny and not funny.

Based on last 5 seasons, the survival points were :
46, 49, 51, 43, 44
Average of that is 46.6. let's say 47!
So we need to average 1.2 points a game until end of season - maybe more
Based on that I think any suggestion we can finish just outside the Top 10 is hugely ambitious / bonkers
With the optimism of pre-season, I was thinking we would do a 10th spot finish. Now the reality has kicked in, I would be thinking 16th-20th at best (and would take that today!!!!)

Is now really the best time to start this thread? Better to go back to the original thread on this topic (which I can’t find) and see how ridiculous most people’s expectations were. It reads like a bad joke. Perhaps some of you didn’t realise that, unlike most lowly prem teams who would be decent at Championship level, we were so far off Prem standard that we wouldn’t have beaten most Championship sides LAST season. I’d like to say that I made the prediction that, following a very difficult initial spell, we would improve and get to 15th. Even that seems ludicrously optimistic.

When you get to the league table scroll down. There's another 12 places below 12th! Honestly, if we can get 21st spot I would consider that to be a huge success. We have some prima donnas that won't be easy to shift before their contracts run out, and then we'll have to find decent replacements when the PL money has gone. That fire sale that we said wouldn't happen - probably should (unless they pull their fingers out between now & the window reopening) just to get them off the books & allow the rebuild to start sooner.

Who'd have thought it?😱

But not as many who thought that Diakhaby, Mbenza, Mounié and others would ‘tear the Championship a new one’... Absolutely laughable. People like me and arterrier who were more realistic were told we were miserable pessimistic blah blah blah.
