Of course I don't. The OP said there was 114 points 'left to play for'. It isn't difficult to understand bro. Its completely meaningless to say 114 points. Point I make is that if we were to suddenly go from 1 point in 8 to play off form then we would get around 65 points. And finish around 12th in the league. I think that is a bit optimistic personally. It's a fact. No one is saying we will get them. What is difficult to understand?

Pointless to target how many points we need. The first priority is to win a game, and go from there. Next up after that will be catching the teams above us. If we can somehow do this before Christmas, or at least be within 2/3 points of climbing out of the relegation places, we might be in with a chance. Looking at this from where we are now however is a big, big ask. Must admit, I'd be making the first target to get the squad fit enough to last 90 minutes. Winning a game can come later. To be honest, if we lose to Millwall on Saturday, but the players are busting a gut for an equaliser and giving the Millwall defence something to think about right up until the final whistle - I'd call that very significant progress.

The highest side you face in the next 7 games (looking at the table today) is Blackburn in 10th. If you're still at the bottom after those games then you're definitely in a relegation battle. I keep predicting at least 3 wins in next 7 and I understand from the results why a lot think that is highly unlikely, but look at the bare facts: After you lost to Wednesday I said you'd stay up and a number on here said you'd not be able to score enough to get any points. Yesterday you went to one of the promotion favourites who'd only conceded two goals in a game once this season and scored twice for the first time this season (someone said you only had two shots, but that's immaterial) I looked on the West Brom prediction thread and only ONE fan predicted you'd score two goals so that shows what an achievement it was. Millwall haven't won away in league all season and Stoke haven't won at all. Your managers will be targetting enough further improvement to take at least 4 points from those 2 games and then you're getting close to the pack above the relegation zone. Keep smiling, it'll all be okay You're up there with the best non-htfc posters on here, Kev. I always appreciate your posts and your views. However, over the years we have played plenty of teams who have had a crap record until facing us and then we break the spell that is upon them. I remember playing Bristol City (10 years ago?) and they couldn't buy a win before playing us. They beat us and went on to get promoted, if I remember correctly (I'm sure someone will comment and clear this up). There are other similar stories. The Cowley's are obviously an excellent management team, and I'm delighted they are here. I genuinely fear that overall (including the context of our very, very poor recruitment over the last 3 transfer windows) it is all going to be too little, too late. We just don't have enough players with enough ability, fitness, backbone, desire, leadership qualities, or even a genuine sense of equity in being at the club. They're not all like that, but there are just too many that are for us to be able to turn this around comfortably. What I do want is, even if (when?) we go down, for the Cowleys to be given the time to make a proper impact. We need stability and continuity now, but only in the right areas. And at the moment, I'd say that it is only the 2 brothers that I'd like to see remain at the club, plus a couple or three players, and given he is so new, the new owner. The problems at the club just seem to have crept into every corner, and I'd hate for that to rub off on the Cowleys. We need a proper clear out. The results say it all. I'd give the Cowleys a massive broom and let them get right into the corners over the next 2 years and clear them out whatever is infecting them. It could be another fun ride. Thank you for the kind comments and as a football fan I totally get your comments re losing to teams who are crap!!! If we turn that around both Millwall and Stoke will be looking at their games and thinking thank god it's only one point Huddersfield!! In The Cowleys first season with us we got to the FA Trophy Semi Final (we'd never ever been to Wembley at that time) and drew York who were in a relegation dogfight and despite going 1-0 up away from home in the first leg managed to throw it away and lose at home in extra time. All those traits that you mention (ability, fitness, backbone, desire, leadership qualities) will all improve even in the next week or two I really promise you that. Sure some players will not improve as much as others, but they'll make the team as individuals, and as a unit, better. I'm tempted to put up a charity bet for all those doubters and just asked a friend who has more money than me if he'll back my judgement Kev

Stanton1969,
I've just seen that you are an Iain Dunn Terrier due to how many posts you've made. Not sure I should talk to you anymore as I was there when he scored the first ever Golden Goal in English football and you lot kept singing that he had no hair, but you didn't care LOL!!!!

Its a completely misleading cliche. Nothing hard to understand about it. Since when has "114 points left to play for" been a cliche?! X points to play for from x games is a cliche. I give up with you though, finished my gym workout and no longer need the wise words of King Curtis to fill the rest breaks. Have a good night.

Well take it one game at a time and give it 110% but at the end of the day we’re over the moon, not sick as a parrot to hear that there’s 114 points left to play for.

Cliche examples would include "A game of 2 halves" or "Cultured left foot". Hope you enjoyed your gym workout bro. Make sure you have sufficient Protein for the gains. I'd suggest a dictionary for your gym rest breaks for the rest of 2019.

things will turn around by new year. You may be right but by the time the transfer window opens, we’ll only have 20 league games left so it’ll be too late.
