I’m happy to admit that I was probably wrong about Diakhaby. Don’t remember seeing a Winger from any team at our stadium go on so many runs in one game than he did on Saturday. If he can build on this performance he could turn into one hell of a player.

He needs to work on his final ball/ crossing, he's got the pace and most of the time he's been garbage but 3 of the last 4 goals he's been involved in, so keep it up Adam lad.

Sterling was just such a player until the right management team got hold of him. We, Huddersfield Town, now have that team.

I've spat my dummy out many times this season and I'm bloody delighted to be proven wrong. Long may it continue.

What we’ve realised for him to be effective we need to get him one against one and more importantly space in front of him to run into.

No its not.....I've been a fierce critic of his. Based on what I've seen and what hes delivered not because I've got an agenda against him. I hope he proves to be the best player I've ever seen at town - if he is I will say so.....but some have him down as a star now though after 1 bloody good game, not a consistent season a la mooy, schindler. That's all I'm saying. No you're wrong. Some people spotted the potential in him from the start, potential that was realised on Saturday. Diakhaby (and Mbenza) have been a lightning rod for so much frustration at the relegation and those that defended him have been rinsed on here - now it turns out that they were in fact right and you amongst many others on here have been proven to be wrong. Seem to recall you saying that he's an athlete and not a footballer, still think that? Yes he needs to do it consistently but what's to say he won't? Why not just enjoy the moment and admit that you were wrong and he actually has the potential to be a very good footballer, rather than give him some sort of extremely qualified and begrudging praise, bring up his price tag and tell him to do it 20 times before he's worthy of your praise? When's the last time you've seen a Town winger rinse a full back and win us a match like Diakhaby did on Saturday? Isn't that what people go to football to watch? Isn't that the whole point of spending all this time and money to follow a football team? For some people it seems trying to be proven right, or not be proven wrong, is more important than enjoying things for what they are. It all comes across a bit small minded and pathetic if I'm honest. And that's without wondering why it's Mbenza and Diakhaby, rather than for example Pritchard, Sobhi, Depoitre, that get so much stick on here. They even get spoken about as though they are one strange amorphous person sucking money out of the club. Quite disgraceful way to treat a couple of young lads really. Small minded and pathetic to voice an opinion?! Jesus wept - if its begrudging to question a player who has done little since he came then guilty as charged. I havent mentioned sobhi cos ive barely seen the bugger play so not easy to comment on but yes hes been a waste of time really like depoitre was last season but they have now both left. Ive praised his contribution on sat which was excellent!!! The lad did brilliantly and its a start but lets not be making him out as the second coming of ronaldo and he will do it every week just yet eh?!. If sat suddenly proves me wrong and you right then clearly you will be happy to wait another 20 games for another good display then?! Yes i have said hes looked more an athlete than footballer..........cos he has imho. He didnt on sat and i hope he doesnt regularly from now on. If he does then i will happily admit i got it wrong.....i genuinely hope i have cos if so we will be a better team for it...acceleration like he has can be phenomenal if channelled well as it clearly was on sat.

Is it? Up to last sat they were very similar imo....2 very expensive misfits both signed for their main strength.. pace. Diakhaby has shown some seeds of promise.....many incl me hope isaac joins him. At this moment though I remain to be convinced. They weren't signed as a pair.. They are both black and foreign, and play on the wing. But they are individuals in their own right.. I'm not sure I've heard of two other players lumped together like this, barring maybe Eaves and Eastoe who signed on loan on the same day from the west Midlands and were very similar... Diakhaby was my MOM on Saturday and is showing some level of commitment and endeavour. Mbenza isn't.. So why does. Diakhaby have to carry this "and mbenza" bollocks round with him? I'm not sure I've heard Ince and... Pritchard and... Flo and...Mounie and... Etc etc... I won't use the R word. But let's just say its very lazy IMO
Mel Eaves, ace for us.

Excellent cameo off the bench last week and I was delighted to see him get a deserved start on sat. He then rewarded them with his by far the best best performance since he signed. I’ve no doubts the Cowleys came to us because of the squad we have- far superior to Wendies who only have championship players/cloggers. Diakhaby is gonna be a major threat this season now. I can only see him going from strength to strength. He has the raw ingredients- raw pace, lighting feet, attacking instinct... and now he’s got a very astute manager and coach combo behind him...
So watch out championship defenders Adama is coming for you.

You're kidding yourself, the Cowleys came to us because (1) They achieve total involvement with managing the club from top to bottom, something Wednesday would never have given them. (2) Money. Diakhaby does look like he's going to be some player though.

Think his confidence is growing game by game now under the Cowleys, likewise with Bacuna and they will have seen and felt the supporters warming to them after the past few performances. It bodes well that Mbenza seems good friends with them both, hopefully he'll see this too and think "I want that" and up his game, so frustrating at what's going on with him.. Before his calf injury last season he looked to be turning a corner but sadly now gone backwards.

Bacuna and Diakhaby both have bags of ability. It was obvious from the off, despite the negativity about them on here. The Cowley's are builing their confidence, and teaching them to play to a pattern with drilled training routines. It's working already. Our play is more positive and direct.
Out of the three most questioned signings last season, I think the only question mark hangs over Mbenza, so it will be interesting to see what they can do with him.

I noticed Koroma was involved in the match day squad even though he wasn't on the bench. Saw him doing some fitness on the pitch before the game. He didn't play for the u23's last night either so I think he's going to be featuring within the next couple weeks.

Agree completely about the control aspect and after our recent run with directors of football etc it made sense for us too. For me the squad is still one of the best in the division and the Cowleys will have done their research. They knew or believed they could get more from the squad and have already started delivering.

I'd agree with that, Diakhaby can beat a man with ease but seems to lack the ability to "whip" a cross in and always prefers to look for the shorter option like we've seen in the last couple of games. Not saying that's a bad thing as we've rarely got anyone challenging in the middle. With Mbenza, if he beats his man his head is up looking for the cross and we've seen he can deliver. If we can get him fit and instill a bit of confidence and can start introducing him into games like we have Diakhaby his pace and end product could be deadly.

Wasn't there on Saturday but afew of my mates were raving about Diakhaby, seen the highlights & it looked like he had their left back on toast. He's earned his starting slot now so it's up to him to keep it with consistently putting in those types of performances, I'm sure the last couple of games will have given him a huge boost though.
Judging him last season was a little unfair, young lad moving to a foreign country to a team that couldn't buy a win, in & out of the team with mostly cameo appearances in one of the hardest leagues in the world, infact looking at his stats he only played 551 mins of which 281 mins were against Chelsea, Man city & Arsenal. He's starting to show us why we signed him now, he just needs to add goals to his game cutting in from the right & he'll be one of the top wide players in the league. I can't imagine many LBs relishing coming up against a Diakhaby full of confidence in this league anyway.

I've said before I'd like him to get a go at #10, he can pick a pass and has a hell of a shot on him Given his size and pace there aren't many centre-backs who would fancy playing against him. He should have been brought on at Arsenal last season to play alonside Depoitre.
