I honestly think when at full speed Diakhaby is the quickest player i’ve ever seen, for any club.
That doesn’t mean he could run the 100m in record time. Mbenza would probably beat him, but when he’s moving he’s like a gazelle.

His performances also making quite a few ‘experts’ on here that completely wrote him off look clueless. I’m just amazed that one of our most expensive signings ever who took over a year to look like a footballer was getting criticism....

It’s that he was written off as hopeless, an athlete not a footballer. A complete waste of money. That supposed experts saw zero potential in him while others saw it and realised he needed support and confidence to develop.

I admit That imo he wasnt a footballer, Just seemed clueless . If he can continue like this and improve then our team will benefit. It must be to do with the Cowleys and confedence !

Too many people on here are way too quick to criticise, and often it's not in any way constructive, just vile insults. None of us have an idea of what the pressure to perform as a professional athlete is like. Confidence is an incredibly fragile thing - look at how Tottenham folded like a deck of cards against the might of Brighton after being thrashed by Bayern. The Cowleys appear to have started getting that confidence back in our team, so hopefully some of the lads who have been the target of abuse and ridicule will start showing what they can really do.

That much maligned YouTube video again. Anyone watching Diakhabi over the last few games will have seen what's lain dormant. The Cowleys would know having watched this what he's capable of, he was always more than just a sprinter. Now that's me put the kiss of death on his performances.

Quite interesting watching that video again. With hindsight his strengths and weaknesses are there for all to see. Speed and skill and a gift for the spectacular when playing on instinct. But goals through goalkeepers legs, lucky rebounds off the keeper when a pullback to a better placed player was the best option shows he needs to work on composure, placement and decision making. He is making strides in these areas.

Anyone counting the number of nutmegs he's performed so far?

Said it last season. If they can get diakhaby and mbenza confident, happy to be here and playing well then we will have the best forward line in the division. The majority of people wrote diakhaby off even before the season started, now all of a sudden the majority love him. Same with mbenza. There is a quality player in there, if the management can get it out of him it will be an exciting season for us going forward!

Yeah, he had his head up and looked for the passes leading to Grant's and both of Juninhos goals I'm sure that's down to the Cowleys telling Bacuna to make himself available for the pass. One of the reasons Diakhaby has been maligned on here is because despite him beating defenders for fun when he gets clear we give him few options.

The criticism the 3 amigos have received has been fully justified, its writing on a message board so they don't see it anyway, or shouldn't do. I haven't noticed any vocal criticism during any of the games in his horrific run we've been on which is credit to the patience and understanding of the fans. Criticism would have occurred any any football club in any league; MUCH worse at some clubs and it wouldn't have been confined to forums. Regardless of what happens in the future all 3 were really poor signings. If (its still a big if) one or more turn out to be world beaters at a later date then brilliant but it will not alter the fact they weren't capable of delivering what was required in that second PL season, or even making the first eleven. I don't think many people blamed the individuals, more the process and people who brought them in and regardless of what happens in the future I think its already pretty clear we massively overpaid. It's also a bit early to be getting the cigars out, Diakhaby has so far looked very impressive in the last 2 games under a proper football manager at a league below the one he was purchased for, long may it continue but it's very early days. A reminder; these lads weren't (or shouldn't have been) brought in for their future potential, they were brought in for huge fees and wages to play PL football and they have been judged accordingly. Its a clean slate now for them all, or it should be, although I doubt we'll see Sobhi again.

One excellent game and he’s a world beater according to some who are upset people made a judgment after a full season of shit.
Not only that this is now proof that Mbenza is the best in the division on the other wing.
Said it before i think Diakhaby will be a good player but probably elsewhere, Mbenza should think about a career change.

Its a clean slate now for them all, or it should be, although I doubt we'll see Sobhi again. I have no problem with people having an opinion and stating it on a message board, it’s the level of vitriol and personal abuse to the individuals that grinds my gears. Only last week some Neanderthal on here was calling certain players “absolute c@nts”. It’s totally out of order, no matter how poorly anyone has been playing. Somebody saw Diakhaby and Mbenza as suitable to come in and instantly do a job as a PL player. They were wrong. But neither that, nor the transfer fees, were down to the players. When they did get a chance they were put in to a totally disfunctional team and never stood a chance of doing anything. New season, new manager and a new Diakhaby it seems. If he keeps it up no doubt in a few weeks those same people who were abusing him will be singing his praises (apart from the hard core who will still want him to fail just so they can be proven “right”). You think we paid a huge amount of money for him...we could have have had Christian Benteke (£27m, 4 goals in his last 54 games) or payed Alexei Sanchez (3 goals in 34 games) £400K/week! Football....funny old game, eh?😎

I thought he was excellent Saturday, i rarely stand up to clap players off but i did when he was subbed. You’re right it was just as much down to the management as the player. Creating a plan that gives him space to run into is vital. My point really was folk saying no one should have judged him after just one season have done exactly that after one game!

I get your point, but he's been judged by me on his rapidly improving performances for the Cowleys. Nobody is saying he's a world beater, absolutely nobody. What I will say is Rajiv Van La Parra got me out of my seat, this fella is the nearest I've been to then. IF he keeps it up, IF, then we have a star. I see no reason why the Cowleys would be happy at him going elsewhere to achieve his potential.

Anyway this thread is nowt to do with Ince. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards That was nothing to do with Ince. We had mainly the same players second season as we did first. By the second season the confidence of promotion had gone and the rot of struggling each week was setting in. If Ince had stayed he would have been even poorer last season than he was 2017/18 (if that was possible given how average he was anyway) Name me one player who was better last season than 2017/18? Even quality players like Schindler and Mooy were a shadow of the players they were just a few months earlier
