The visit by Barnsley always looked a tricky encounter and so it proved. The Tykes, as expected, endeavoured to make up the skills deficit by hard-work and a muscular approach. Taking Town by surprise with their fast start, it was clear that this match was going to require character. Town secured the win that, candidly, was essential with two pieces of class interspersed with each side missing an open goal. The trip to Brentford will be an entirely different proposition. The Bees, currently in 13th, are seven places and five points ahead of Huddersfield with Monday night's London derby at QPR in hand. Last time out they secured a remarkable 3-0 win at Swansea City. I hope that I am wrong, but returning from the Smoke empty-handed seems, to me, to be the most likely result.

He wasn't too bad today but still had a couple of non league level moments when he switched off so I'm hoping that Kongolo will be back for this and Elphick can sit a few games out.
Would be delighted with a point because this is a massive step up from the last 3 teams we've played

November's fixtures are tricky to say the least, Brentford, Preston, Birmingham and Swansea, all top half sides. We will probably need to play a lot better to get some results out of these 4 games.

The kongolo , class defender How many games have you seen him play right of centre? None but imo he is much better or he could swop over with Schindy ?

Whilst this run is clearly a lot tougher on paper I personally feel we're more suited to play on the counter against teams who will dominate possession, we look far worse when we have all the ball and have to break a team down.

Interesting comment and may be true. We’ll certainly come under the cosh at Brentford who are a massively underrated team. Don’t be fooled by their league position. They play some really good football and are my tip for an unlikely top 6 finish.

Think they'd only scored 9 in the first 11 games with three of those coming against Barnsley, in fact we've scored more than them which considering our start hopefully says something. Just fancy us to nick something on the break if we can cut out the sloppy mistakes at the back.

A tough match but it's not one of those where I'd think we had no chance. Hammerings aside, I wouldn't say that there's a shock result in this fixture, win, lose or draw.
On balance, I'd say losing the most likely but I'd still be disappointed if we didn;t come away with a point.

Danny Cowley is almost certainly getting manager of the month for October with 11 points from 5 games.
Therefore, it's a guaranteed loss.

I will stick my neck out and go for a win, do not be surprised if we win.
Momentum is back, the feel good factor is excellent, confidence, the fight, and of course the Cowleys.
I also think Pritchard will start for this encounter, a massive boost and will be raring to impress.

The kongolo , class defender How many games have you seen him play right of centre? If kongolos attitude is OK he is first name on the team sheet.. Unfortunately......

Brentford usually very strong at home, especially against us. This will be our last ever visit to Griffin Park, and I can only see it ending badly, no matter how well we might play. *SIGH*

You make a good point there, Diakhaby would need to play though for that to happen so he can get away quickly with the ball.

Fair enough...he's still our best defender though. Talent wise he is. Talent wise him and Mounie walk into our team. There's a bit more to it though at our level isn't there

He would definitely, I think Cowley pretty much admitted he got it wrong against Boro in that he thought there'd be more space to exploit. He probably should've rested him that game rather than Barnsley who played their back four pretty much on the halfway line all first half.

this one's gonna be my first away game for a few seasons, first time at griffin park as well. Brentford supporting mate says they're very top heavy and inconsistent, have missed Sawyers more than Maupay this season. we'll win if our defenders have a good enough game I reckon, Grant is nailed on to score again

I'll take a draw from this. Brentford are good at home so I won't be too disheartened with a loss but we need to keep picking up points

They are away at QPR tonight live on sky, hopefully they have a really hard game and with 2 days less recovery it might help us out. They are in decent form ,3 wins in the last 5 ,so it will be a good test and a draw would be a great result. UTT

This will be our last ever visit to Griffin Park, and I can only see it ending badly, no matter how well we might play. *SIGH* Thinking same, not beyond possibility we get nothing away at Brentford, Preston or Bristol. That leaves home games v Brum, who are doing alright, and Swansea who are a bit inconsistent but have a strong enough squad and in top 6 for a reason. Can see possibility of 1 - 4 point total from November and maybe back in bottom 3 but that won't make us a bad team. See where we are first week of Jan and what transfer rumours are taking shape.
