Grant, Mooy, Kongolo, Diakhaby & Mbenza. Realistically, could we get £50m combined? If so we’d break even. £40m would be acceptable and a modest loss. If we invested half of that in the summer, spent wisely, I’m sure we’d be in far better shape than we are now. Why would you sell Grant? I'm going to presume that's a spelling mistake as there is literally no situation I can see where it'll be worth it. We're making a loss with any player we sell, simple. Diakhaby and Mbenza stats are God awful and the club has made it clear they're not wanted. Milk as much out of their transfers as possible with silly extras like sell on clauses, first refusals and player swaps. I'm getting worried that there are literally no solid rumours of transfers yet Why would you want first refusal on Diabenza?

Lets hope Maynard makes a return to keep us informed with creditable info! 90 % charlaton..... not a patch on wons, supernovak or townrwe..... But yes, hope he makes a comeback, if only to make my percentages look even better. Every comment I read on here seems to dismiss your predictions as utter guff - I don't know if that's the case or not but I did ask you to support a claim made the other day which you've ignored, can you back it up or not ?

Bid in for Lewis Holtby - Villa in for Pritchard, might not happen but rumours I've been told tonight. Pritch to Villa seems credible. They’re without McGinn for a while now as well so they’ll be looking for a replacement im guessing and Pritch being a CAM/LW fits the bill

WRT selling KG, every player has a price, and it would depend what we were offered. I can't see him going cheaply and if his sale allows us to buy a couple of really good wingers as well as a striker, I'd be happy with that.

Surely we won't be taking gambles on unproven players to get us out of a relegation battle

I’d expect us to use the 3 spare loan signings from the premier league
They’re easier to sort more quickly, Cowley clearly will give them game time, not scared of throwing them in etc
I’d rather our better young players who have made the bench get league 1 experience and come back ready for next season to be fighting for places
And get players in who improve the first XI now - Not guaranteed I accept
Then being a couple of quality championship level players in - not players who have never played more than 10 games above league 2.
Easier said than done, likely to cost and won’t be done and dusted 1 January whereas I’d expect a few of the loans will be
We clearly can’t sell Grant.

Selling grant in January would be absolute madness imo.

Morgan Gibbs-White on loan ? Not getting a lot of game time at Wolves atm. And Che Adams ? Did very well for Birmingham but struggling with the step up to Prem level

Any rumours from the game today? I did notice Holtby wasn't in the squad for Blackburn despite being involved in their last 5 or 6.

And another one lined up. Sorry - no further info or names to offer as yet UTT

Was surprised to hear Oggy falling into this trap in post match interview, which Crowley dealt with very good grace. Did he honestly expect Cosley to say which players we were going/hoping to buy? I know that ir’s killing time on the wireless, but he could have asked more direct questions such as what offers have been received for the three “not good men”. I do despair at this constant conjecture. I thing I would be no good as a newspaper editor, only anting news, not conjecture.

We've seen those sort of claims before, and then players have moved a week later. 3 months ago it might be believable, but I'd say it becomes a bit less believable when the transfer window is just around the corner.

Quite possibly yes, although they are hardly going to come out and state that he wasn’t selected as ‘he’s moving to Huddersfield next week’. Not sure if he is one of our targets or not but seemed to be a bit of a coup for Blackburn at the time he signed. I just wonder if there is some sort of clause in the contract he signed with them.

It would be good to get the loan signings in nice & early with a view to blood them in the Southampton cup game.

Any rumours from the game today? Pritchard hoping to move down south if possible, close to his family. Mooy for sale in jan, no fee arranged in the loan deal with Brighton. The other 5 are all moving, everything is amicable, best for their careers and huddersfield. Looking to sign 2 wingers, 9, 10 and left footed defenders. Hogg likely to be on bench and play a few mins to pick up a yellow.

My understanding is 2 loans close but not sorted yet. Down to parent club, we've done all we can. Players very keen to come. Both are high quality. Permanents are in talks but clubs need to be sensible with demands.
One of the loans we should know soon.

If we can move on the 5 ( or 6 with Pritchard ) for say half what we paid for them and without subsidising any wages I would consider it a good January window even without a single incoming ! ( although 3 or 4 quality incomings would be nice.)
