I know he has had some injury issues but hef as backup for the 2 centre halves and a great bit of influence and experience on and off the pitch would be a good bit of business given our current problems. I can't see it happening but the guy being around the place would just lift everyone

Manager and team failed to take advantage of a poor ref and linos. Stoke did. The word professional now covers a great deal of grey areas... At 2 1 up that was the time to get Campbell on, get the ball into their half everytime and get ugly. Use the situation and tension to our advantage, slowing the game and terminal passing into a packed middle area with a daft ref was asking for it. We got it. When you are given a gift as we were yesterday you have to take advantage. Manager and team failed, we watched it happen. Didnt stick at all up top did it, thats why Cowleys will be looking to offload Mounie IMO, not the type of 'focal point' they want. Decent in the air but his hold up play and ability to bring others into play if poor, he's not combative enough either. Campbell is more their cup of tea for sure but I suspect they'll be in for a striker who is capable of holding it up and giving the defence a hard time, bit like the chief. The Leon Clarke rumour sounds realistic, irony is we'd all have been disappointed signing him before the PL and £250M+.

Cover definitely needed for CB so hopefully an option if fit.

We need a Booth/Grant Holt type up top, A proper focal point, A battler who can hold the ball up, Shield it from the defender and lay it off.
Big Steve can go for me.

If you want him around in the background, fair enough, but I wouldn't want him anywhere near being a member of the playing staff.

Examiner and Maynard said we're not interested. Fingers crossed they're correct. getting players in is not easy as cowley quite rightly pointed out at todays very revealing and honest press conference

I think this is the way the Cowleys want us to play. Who of this type of player is available though?

Bit of a long shot but if villa sign batschauy Maybe we could ask about loaning Jonathan kodija. He would lead the line very well for us. Long shot don't get me wrong

With Wesley potentially out for the season I doubt Kodjia will be going anywhere.

True, therefore he had none to lose We don't need quick centre backs, the 2 we have are also slow. I don't know enough about his fitness to judge but what I'm saying is if he's anywhere near the player we had last time I'd happily take him, we know all about his character and what he could do for team spirit and he's also a known quantity. Phil did say in his first Q and A at the cinema that Hef was basically finished which I thought was pretty unprofessional at the time. He also told us we had some top quality wingers though and a great manager so I'll take it with a pinch of salt. I'd be happy with Hef, I'd also be happy with Lolley, Crainie and Payne; other players we gave away to make way for the dross we're now stuck with.

Patrick Roberts has had his loan ended at Norwich, he’d make a good signing for any Championship team

Good work from Boro getting that done so early. He would have been a class signing for anyone in this division

So much for terriers inbound! To quote Nigel Clibbens and a lesson Phil has by now taken on board. No announcements until all the is are dotted and all the Ts are crossed..No more empty seats!....Patience required! Wish they'd hurry up though.

Given our current place in the table and direct style of play I doubt any clubs will be eager to send their top youngsters our way. I expect old heads experienced in a 4-4-2. Leon Clark would not surprise at all.
I like the cowley brothers and think they could take us somewhere at the same time I’m slightly worried by our current style and constant shit housing. Hoping our situation is dictating this at the minute and things will improve next year

We signed most of the last lot from promo videos, I would imagine the Cowleys have at least watched most of the next lot in person.

They might not be too popular with the lower league managers but I'm sure the premier League bosses will know how good they are. The clubs will base their decision on who is coaching their players before anything else.

This time last year they got VLP on loan. Fair to say this is an upgrade on that.

Mounié attracting other French interest (other than Nimes) as well as interest from Germany and the inevitable Turkey. According to l'équipe, we value him in the 5m Euro plus bracket If I was him I would go to Nimes, very nice place and he could pop down for a few drinks. At which time I could ask him why he went Walkabout for over a season!

Cowley confirmed he is hopeful for one before the weekend. Can I ask where you saw/heard that?

Never even a slight rumour of one, if DC speaks highly of him as Wagner did I'm okay with that. Hopefully he's just been bang outta form and he's finally turned the corner, 5m for a 25yo striker who's proved he can do it at the highest level. I know what I'd tell them they can do with it.
