I really don't believe there will be any incoming bar a loan or 2, reading between the lines in interviews it seems incomings are dependant on getting rid of the wantaways, not just getting rid but getting something near their market value(actual value bag of chips if lucky). Still firmly believe Grant will go, his desire to play seems to have gone which says to me its already pretty much sorted. Mounie, hard to call, 3 in 3 may have actually generated a bit of interest I think that the message was that DC wanted at least 5 players however, there's many a slip twixt cup and lip, so nothing is certain. Grant - for 20 million, for me he can go - not a penny less. This is how the club will exist now and it will be interesting which striker we develop next. Much better for the management to address our weakest players and get people for those positions (The numbers Game Anderson & Sally again!). I tend to agree, but only if we bring in someone who knows where the goal is and who suits the way the Cowleys want to play. Also getting rid of the wantaways would be a bonus. I'd also be tempted (if we could) to send back Grabara and that wannabe midfielder from their loans, thus freeing up 5 loan spots.

Someone will always step up to the mark as a striker who scores. Kachunga in the promotion season, Wells, Vaughan, Rhodes. We've been pretty lucky over the years.

We may get a decision or two tomorrow but no-one physically through the door. Not sure why Danny said that cos he knows this as well as anyone done deals? , loan or permanent?

I really hope the Cowleys can oversee a successful transfer window, they've got a hell of a job on their hands to get a fit for purpose squad together given current status and resources available.

I really don't understand why we didn't have deals ready to go as soon as the window opened. We are desperately short and needed players in in time to play against Saints, in order to be ready for Barnsley next week.
This window is going to be a total bust again, isn't it?

Quite simply because it is really not that simple! If it were, surely we would have seen a far greater number of deals confirmed on the stroke of midnight? Deals may well be agreed in principle, but there are many events in a chain that are circumstantial and reliant on third parties - even for loan deals (we've heard about the Kieran Dowell saga). Not many clubs are willing to rush into 'done deals' pre-window and why would they when the melee of the market may produce a more suitable alternative, especially for those more desirable. And on balance, having players ready to go for the Saints game aint a priority.

We’ve only had 12 months to prepare!!!! How’s about signing Heff, Wells, Lolley, Malone, Payne, Lowe, VLP. They all walk into this team.

I've never seen anyone who looks less like a footballer than Malone. Apart from Crouch but at least he could play. Malone was absolute garbage for Town, it's irrelevant what he was like for anyone else.

He wasn't terrible for Town, he's just got better at Forest. Are you Malone's brother or something?

Players come, players go, for various reasons. It's not the 1950s, you can't force players and in Lowes case his family to stay where they don't want to be. No different than all the othwr 91 clubs.

Lots of folk thinking 2+2=5 on here, with far too much spare time pondering and second guessing our club and their players.

This window is crucial make no mistake about it. We are firmly in a relegation battle anyone who believes otherwise is deluded. sides who come down either bounce straight back or end up in a relegation fight. Of course it helps if you have stability but we had what was basically an untried Manager, terrible recruitment as well as selling of players who are better than what we have now. It should be no surprise to anyone we're struggling. Whoever made the decisions that have resulted in us ending up in the shit should be ashamed. We must back the Cowleys now. They know their stuff but we must give them the tools to do a job. Failure to do so will be unforgivable.

I know it hasn’t worked out but Heff was worth a million pounds easy when we sold him for half that. Just to let him get a nice contract. No one is doing us any favours. Grant wants to play in the Premier League, just like every other player. He’s just more open about it.
