We've been screwed over by a prem manager this afternoon. Gutting. We're now considering a move for szmodics. His agent has been pushing him to us for months but we had other options. Danny now considering him a decent option in light of today and Pritchard situation. So we didn’t want him, probs cos he looks shite, We lost out on our target and now we want him? Our scouting/recruitment network is nowhere near fit for purpose in the Championship We didn't need his position as we have Pritchard and several prem loans. The loans for that position haven't come to fruition yet and Pritchard still not available so szmodics moves onto the radar. Not as simple as just saying hes no good.

Think its gonna be another task getting anyone decent in.Looking at the game on wednesday and the shit we dished up,maybe some potential targets have been put off. You really believe potential targets base their futures purely on the basis of one crap game? These guys will have been in the loop for weeks. As has been said, his manager has screwed us over, not the player or his agent. Not everybody is simple minded.

I can just sense the shittiest transfer window.
After the last few disasters I have zero faith in our recruitment dept.
It'll be our top earners out which is fair enough but they'll be replaced but bottom of the barrel lower league drivel.

I wonder if Grabara getting a public bashing from Cowley has contributed to this change of mind (assuming it’s Klopp..)

It is, we just keep saying it and sign nobody and end up where we are today? Lots of players who are not good enough where they are or for other reasons are not playing , will move and do better elsewhere... Let's just see and as we did a few years ago hope we strike lucky with a few. Last season and the windows that went with it are now closed🤐

Brewster would fit in perfectly at Town...we were run like ‘Brewster’s Millions’ in 2018.

Zanka Billing Mbenza Diakhaby Sobhi Sabiri Kongolo Brown I may have missed others. All have been told they’re not gonna play for us again in the past 12 months. The result is we’re seemingly skint, in a relegation dogfight with a squad full of academy lads. Never before has a club been so mismanaged to bring such a downfall from the euphoric high of 18 months ago. Bravo to everybody concerned. Makes you wonder whether there are really that many footballers with bad attitudes or if there is something in the comments from Lolo et al about how poorly managed the club is generally, you wouldn't get this anywhere else. Oh dear!

Wait so he’s not actually injured? Jesus wept. To be fair, it's not that straightforward. he has a cyst causing discomfort but not injured. ok to play. The lad obviously doesn't feel he can do the job with the discomfort however How long has he had it? Two years?

I’d be happy getting the big hitters out and some okay players in. January is always a nightmare. Hopefully the big rebuild will be in the summer. This is just a mad dash to bring a few more bodies in (although it’d be good to get at least a couple of longer term signings). Think we’ve got to give Webb a chance too, he’s walked into a proper shitshow. I can just sense the shittiest transfer window. After the last few disasters I have zero faith in our recruitment dept. Oh dear! Other clubs have had similar problems but not many have imploded from a position of strength as we have in such a short time. Leeds, Sunderland, Pompey, Bolton, Bradford, Swansea...all were built on sands and ticking time bombs once they hit a bad patch. We (apparently) were superbly running, posting a profit with all to play for going into a 2nd top flight season. For the wheels to have come off so spectacularly in the time it took to play 60 odd league games is quite remarkable.

Oh dear! Zanka Billing Mbenza Diakhaby Sobhi Sabiri Kongolo Brown Add Lossl, Durm, Lolo and we're into double figures of players who downed tools. I know there are cases that players want to leave, especially after relegation, but where else has there been a case to this extent?

Relegation clauses in contracts seem very wise but when it means a massive drop in wages don’t expect players to want to stay. Why would they? They didn’t leave Monaco cause they liked Huddersfield town centre.

What I don't understand is why the tool downers have not been immediately shipped out on January 1st. It would show intent and get fans on board.
Yes I know it is January 3rd but all we have managed is to get a player who hasn't played for us out on loan...not even fully off the books.
What have Webb and Hodgkinson been up to since the debacle of the closure of the previous window.
Early business here is crucial to our survival in this division and if we leave it late it will be a spectacular disaster.
He made the right call appointing Cowley's...he can't fuck this window up.

What worries me is as much as I believe the Cowleys are fighters, they're not used to losing and this many things going against them what with the want aways and injuries. A poor window or not enough backing could be enough to see them cut their losses and walk away.

You should send your CV. You've obviously got a gift if you could have got the "tool downers" out on 1st January. I'm sure David Webb would welcome his life being simplified

Ahhh... true.. forgot he signed for them. Brewster is in the squad for the game against Everton apparently according to klopp so it's unlikely to be him either. Jack Clark maybe, Izzy Brown?

All this rubbish about we're only 3 days in to the window etc... We've known for a painfully long time now that most of the players we have aren't good enough either mentally, physically or talent-wise. Any monkey can react to something but being proactive is what being a professional is all about. The amount of money in players agents is staggering and they should have been alerted to potential availability months ago meaning on day 1 we should have been good to go for ins and outs. Anything less than that is unprofessional IMO.
Obviously there are other variables but I'm absolutely shocked that the Cowley's have been slating the squad depth for months and we haven't got somebody in. 13 first teamers he said and a game against Southampton means one of two things to me - play the first team and risk injuries, or play the kids and get embarrassed yet again.
