What I don't understand is why the tool downers have not been immediately shipped out on January 1st. It would show intent and get fans on board. Yes I know it is January 3rd but all we have managed is to get a player who hasn't played for us out on loan...not even fully off the books. What have Webb and Hodgkinson been up to since the debacle of the closure of the previous window. Early business here is crucial to our survival in this division and if we leave it late it will be a spectacular disaster. He made the right call appointing Cowley's...he can't fuck this window up. I can just sense the shittiest transfer window. After the last few disasters I have zero faith in our recruitment dept. It'll be our top earners out which is fair enough but they'll be replaced but bottom of the barrel lower league drivel. Fucking Jesus

Well if the Chairman has reneged on their agreement, and the Cowleys' are all about trust and value, there will shortly be a parting of the ways. Doubt that. Which is exactly what I first suggested. Let's hope not. Perhaps they would have a case for constructive dismissal.

Different recruitment team now. Webb and Cowleys rather than Seiwert and Winter. Webb ? 😳 David Webb? Director of football?

So, just to clarify...
It's day 3 of the transfer window and our inactivity is being interpreted as the chairman trying to constructively dismiss our management team.
Good work everybody.

I wonder if the cowleys would've stayed at lincoln and held out for different job if they could roll back the clock?
They must have thought they were coming to a big club with a good transfer budget and a top recruitment dept.

It would be a good effort to move everyone on and bring in all the players we need in january. Danny has made a bit of a rod for his own back, hopefully he can sort it and along with webb do enough business to begin reshaping the squad for summer. It would make sense to use the loan market as fully as possible, as it leaves us alot of room for maneuvering in the summer to prepare for a challenge on the title. GF

I wonder what the new process is for ensuring we don't sign anymore bad eggs. I'm pretty sure Phil and co thought they were being thorough with their checks in the summer but that didn't work with Brown
You're generally going to be reliant on the opinions of other people. Let's hope we're now asking the right people who give honest opinions

So we've gone through one of the worst periods I can remember at Town for being short of players and have had a bunch of kids on the bench yet he couldn't get on there because he is physically not strong enough. Rubbish. There's got to be more to it or he would have been involved at some point since they came in. Daly is miles off being ready physically but it hasn't stopped them involving him Plus his move being with a view to a permanent transfer suggests we'd like to offload for good

Re the Brown loan deal. If there's any club to send a player to to rediscover or improve their attacking ability it's Pboro. They have a history of developing young, attack minded players due to the style of football their chairman insists on playing. Very financially savvy.
Shame they seem to have an option to buy though.

The talent is there but the application isn’t, that’s why he’s gone on loan. It’s up to him.

Other clubs have had similar problems but not many have imploded from a position of strength as we have in such a short time. Leeds, Sunderland, Pompey, Bolton, Bradford, Swansea...all were built on sands and ticking time bombs once they hit a bad patch. We (apparently) were superbly running, posting a profit with all to play for going into a 2nd top flight season. For the wheels to have come off so spectacularly in the time it took to play 60 odd league games is quite remarkable. The blame lies completely with Dean Hoyle by looks of things. We stayed up on a miracle and the wheels had already started to come off, then he got ill and that made everything 100x worse. Him claiming back his loan which he said he'd never do crippled the club financially and put us back to a position worse than before we got promoted. We need to accept that those premier league years were basically a dream and never happened, because we've certainly not had any benefit of them other than some of the stadium upgrades.

What’s with this telling players they aren’t playing again, more importantly telling the whole world? This tactic must have cost us 20 million at a guess. After years of spending every pound i had to spare supporting this club it breaks my heart. Exactly. Its one thing not to pick a player but to advertise the fact that they won't be picked again without having a sale lined up is ludicrous. I'm sure we could have got more for Billing and Zanka in the summer had PH not told the world that they wouldn't be picked gain under his watch. Although you could argue that just not picking them would make it look like they were not good enough. And Playing them off they don't care will most likely make them look not good enough By saying we have fallen out with them or vice versa their agents can point out how good they were before we fell out

Wait so he’s not actually injured? Jesus wept. Spoke to him in white rose before stoke farce. His words were ‘I’m 80% fit but not prepared to play unless I’m at full fitness’

We got something priceless...Memories that will last forever. PS. He never said he wouldn't claim back his loans. Cry and blubber all you like but please don't try to back up your dramatics with lies.
