Well by the vote I guess its a "No from DATM" - or are we going to keep the vote open until he gets 1 in front then declare its a "clear and unequivacable indication that the DATM fraternity have shown a clear choice that Nick can return". - until then are we then going to have a recount ? - a 2nd vote with conditions attached and keep on voting until Elon Musk lands a man on Uranus , a cure for malaria is found , Donald Trump gets a decent haircut and Adrian Durham/Jason Cundy actually say something positive about Town ? - this could be a while... Mental illness in all shapes and forms is a terrible thing (and we are assuming that Nick does suffer from it in some form although we don't seem to have this in written proof.) - using it as an excuse to allow an annoying individual back on the boards should not be allowed. If(and by the votes it is a big if) he is allowed back what sort of message does that convey to him ? and what of the future ? - another annoying turd of a poster claims they too suffer from some sort of illnes and they are allowed free reign ? Learnt to just skip past his posts as he's not worth the effort, so not going to lose any sleep over the fact he's been permanently banned. Yep, but he's a guy who likes posting and now he's been denied because some people cannot skip past his posts. Nope, he's been denied because he's a fucking idiot who has some bizarre obsession with pretending he is a 5yr old with severe dyslexia, a joke that stopped being funny about 60 seconds after it started. I am very much pro Nick, and it seems pretty obvious he has personal issues in his life. But - he does no real harm to anyone, is certainly not offensive to other posters, takes it all in good spirit, and I think this is a totally over the top reaction.
Allow him some slack, he might grate on folks a lot of the time, but for God's sake it's a football forum, there are far more worrying things for me to worry about in life than Nick's antics on here.

Nick has wound me up plenty of times over the years but in the grand scheme of life it's small fry. People are dying. The world's in a mess. Madmen rule superpowers. Who gives a fuck if Nick is a div from time to time, or he's attention seeking, or he refuses to calm down. Grown men and women, most of whom are sensible and intelligent, are losing their shit over trivialities. They should give their heads a shake and loosen up. Shame on them. Admins were damned if they didn't take the banning of Nick and are now being damned because they have..
Let's be honest who would do the job they do. Certainly not me.
As for Nick's ban I actually agree with them .
Although I didn't report him and ask for it .
Others have been banned and No reprisals
Yet someone who has received so many warnings has at last gone so be it .
He will be lurking or posting under another name so he will still be aboard.

As much as I don’t particularly mind a lot of what Nick posts I’m pretty sure that he’s doing the same thing that a lot of the abusive trolls do but in a round about way. Rather than directly pouring scorn on people he picks those that he sees split opinions (Lee Clarke, Kachunga etc) and repeatedly praises them purely to draw more criticism from those already doing so. Personally I don’t want to see him banned but at the same time there isn’t really much defending him when he’s clearly just a WUM. |

Proper Marmite is Nick Hudds. Sometimes he seems like an attention seeking WUM. On other occasions I wonder if he's struggling with life a little and just needs an outlet.
Not sure if this is possible but DATM seems to be quite a big part of Nick 's life. Certainly based on how often he posts.
Could Nick 's posts be restricted to his own thread? If so, his fans can read up on the latest Lee Clarke news while others, who couldn't care less, can simply stay off the thread.
Not sure if this is possible? Just a suggestion.

Looking back on his recent posts, most of them have been fine. If I was an admin if be telling a few posters to be getting a grip tbh. You're not an admin.. Neither am I. You haven't complained about him to the admins. Neither have I. Not sure what this "getting a grip" looks like.. If people post what others consider shit then others tend to respond. As I do with you on occasion. As you do with me on occasion. It's DATM it's interactional between a whole disparate range of people. The point really is that rightly or wrongly (personally I think wrongly but I'm just a minion) Nick has been warned 100s of times by countless admins.. And he carries on, then calms a little, then carries on. If he really wanted to stay on this site so much he was left in no doubt what he needed to do. Over a number of years. If I don't want to get run over I don't play football on the M62. Now we can dispute till the cats come home whether threats to ban Nick were fair. But ultimately he made the choice. Even he's not going complain to the admins about himself 😉 |

This has been an entertaining read. Thanks folks. For context, Nick has had warnings and bans that go back as far as 2011, all for the same thing. The amount of time and effort spent by admins trying to work with Nick to get him to a stage where he could post within the rules is disproportionate to the value he was adding with those posts. Here is my message to him from August last year. I personally think it is pretty unequivocal about what is needed, and what the consequences would be. Since then, we've allowed much slack, but it was inevitable he would ultimately be banned for good. Put simply, we know he knows how to post within the rules, and we know hje knew the potential cost of not doing. This is on him.
