Honestly believe if we'd had him (and possibly Willock) all season we'd be at least 10 points better off right now. All those games where we've had no spark, ESR is exactly what was missing.

I knew he was a top player and my relegation fears eased the day we signed him.
Absolutely no chance of us having him next season though. Willock however we should be looking to get.
We need a top quality 10 if this is the future formation. A fit Pritchard or Izzy Brown who surely is now available.

One direction did some catchy tunes tbh, and both Niall and Harry have put some reasonable stuff out. Hi Emile. Fancy signing up permanently?

The loan signing of Emile Smith Rowe was a stroke of genius by someone! He is the best young attacking player I can remember seeing in 60 years plus of watching football. Touch, pace, vision, bravery and unselfishness is rarely seen in one player We are very lucky to have him and I look forward to seeing his talented contribution for the rest of the season. ESR superstar - could make a great song! Great song, unless it's followed by "Carries an handbag and wears a bra"..

Having been at the game and watched the "brief" highlights on Sky both Smith Rowe and Willock were either running with the ball forward, usually at pace and fairly directly or in and around the box looking to score - the instance where Willock hit the keepers legs and Smith Rowe put the rebound over the bar being the best example. They created havoc with the Bristol defenders not having a clue who to mark and being run ragged. ESR - having seem him more than Willock also has bags of confidence and if he does loose the ball he doesn't put his head down but simply carries on doing the same. As mentioned on other threads he is certainly one of the best young midfielders we have seen at Town, either on loan or permanent.

In Championship terms you think not? I’d rate both above say Paterson, Tomlin etc all doing well in this league. Just because Brown is playing at Luton doesn’t make his stats less impressive, quite the opposite.

Wagner built his initial promotion team around having VLP,Lolley, doing the same thing.Im not comparing like for like but the principle was the same.Lolley was crippled when we played Villa away and weakened us by not really being fully fit again that year, hence Palmer stepped up.I,m on holiday in Gran Canaria and caught a stream and they both looked terrific.Cowleys need a bollocking for not being braver in the two games before.

Good decision by arsenal to loan him to us. Clearly has tonnes of talent.. just stands out in each game as being head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of technical ability. But you can already see how hes improving and 'toughening' up for men's football. In his first game he did everything he could to avoid the physical side of the game. Made Mbenza look like Stuart Pearce! Hes never going to be a tough tackling hard man, but you could see last night how hes improved that side of his game and is so much more willing to do his bit as best he can when the other side are in possession.
Can;t see us having a cat in hells chance of having him next season becuase he'll likely be in or around the arsenal 1st team, but I can see Willock being a feasible target. And from last night he looks like he has a lot of talent too.

THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OF EITHER PLAYER.
ESR runs like Phil Starbuck used to do.

Couldn't find a Kasey Palmer thread so this will do.
What a player he's become, an absolute joy to watch. Glad that he's restarted his career after leaving us, current squad could.learn a lot from him
