Which two cities in Hampshire have had their name featured in the title of a UK top 10 chart hit? Which other Hampshire city's name features in the lyrics of a song which reached number one in the UK charts? Point for name of city (3), name of the single (3), and name of the artist for each (3). 9 points in total. There's got to be Andover in somewhere.

Wasn't Portsmouth by Mike Oldfield a hit? Yes we've had Winchester Cathedral and Portsmouth with correct artistes! Just now looking for the number one single which mentions another Hampshire city in the lyrics - and no Marco sorry Andover isn't a city!

I am not familiar with his oeuvre and I don't recall the names of any songs, or albums.

Well that's what I'm getting but I'm finding it hard to be definitive. Pompey, Southampton and Winchester.. Struggling after that

It did say the city appears in the lyrics of the song, not in the title. But it was at number 1 and the artists were not exactly unknown entities!

What about the wonderful 'Arthur Daley 'E's Alright' by The Firm, which mentions that Arthur is 'Propping up the bar at the Winchester Club'!

Sheffield... Went to court in Dewsbury I think.. Or maybe Dewsbury nick? Dewsbury was involved somehow I remember When he was stopped in Sheffield he was driving with false number plates, which had been nicked from a scrapyard in Mirfield I think. That's how come he ended up in Dewsbury nick. They had no idea he was the ripper at first. It wasn't until the coppers in Sheffield went back and checked where Sutcliffe had got out of the car for a piss, that they found a hammer and knife. Then the penny finally dropped. Cooper Bridge scrapyard.

Is this a quiz about Arthur Daley's favourite drinking haunt? Just watched today's repeat, the one with Billy Connolly as Tic Tac and him and Arthur are trying to get monies owed by a dodgy geezer, Terry says What Larch Lap Riley, the fence ?, indignant Arthur says Larch Lao Riley is not a fence, he might be a bit dodgy ! Brilliant.
