It was in trouble before this and without any Town or Giants games for the foreseeable it was inevitable.
Massive shame though.

Wasent it closing at the end of the season any road? Yup it was due to shut after April 25th (what would have been the last home game of the season??) according to Examiner.

They have shut but efforts are being made to find someone to take over.

Had some good times in there over the years, some shit beer as well to be honest 😊. Took all three kids to the Christmas parties, probably knocking on thirty years ago, and they absolutely loved it. It's amazing how many fans from other clubs always seem to have either been or heard about it. Just the other week we were in a taxi in wrexham and the driver asked where we were from, "Ah huddersfield, the gas club, I've been there a few times whilst watching Southampton , its quite unique" Sincerely hope someone steps in to rescue the place, but obviously the timing couldn't have been worse with all this shit going on..

Admittedly I don't know much about the place, but I assume nearly all of its footfall comes from home games. Trying to run a place on 23 days a year must be hard. Shame as the few times I've been in there I've enjoyed it.

The committee had simply had enough and wanted to move on. The books were available for anyone to have a look at and it is in the black.

Who actually owns it, and the building. Maybe an opportunity for htafc to diversify a bit.....

My local was given the hard word 3 days after lockdown, If I had known the Gas club was still open I would have sneaked down,

Well it was always a bit rough with aggressive parents so unless you were a regular it was pretty dross and dour and back street hostile, but it's always a shame to see these dinosaurs fossilise.

The Cresent, Dog and Gun, Broadway. Market Tavern, Spinners, Wagon and Horses, Bradley Mills club, Con club and now The Gas club all frequented by Town fans on match days, and also the Canalside where will fans go now a lot of fans to cater for.

That warehouse where you sit on old scaffolding and drink pints of grapefruit ale and such for a fiver???

Since the demise of Ricky’s (Waggon & Horses) I've really struggled time find a handy pre-match pub. The Slubbers is OK but mobility issues make that tricky nowadays. Anywhere that wants me to drink overpriced beer from a plastic cup can just f**k off. I took my lad into Ricky’s every match from being 3 or 4 throughout his childhood. After it closed he said to me one time that most Saturdays we probably had more fun in there than at the actual football!

Some great places of old that will never return we are slowly losing our heritage. The days of only having 2/3 channels on your TV that's if you had one are long gone and the main source of entertainment was going out to your local. These days there is so much more to do with your leisure time than 30/40 years a go but they were great times and I would not change them for anything.

So li can’t ever have a pint and pie and fluorescent peas again? I’ll miss the Gas Club. Reminded me of the old Working Men’s Clubs and I loved it.
