Everybody here is against racism of any kind whatsoever. No suprise that my complaint here is against the BBC ! I suspect that is the first place Zaha or more likely his agent would have run too. Obviously extremely bad by the child to say that about anyone ( and very silly to say it about Zaha ) but arresting him for calling a footballer a black c..t merits a news item in itself for the BBC yesterday ? Come on. It wasn't front page news on any of the national papers that I could see. Discuss...should the BBC think it more newsworthy than the physical abuse of a child, the death of a family in a road accident or the loss of 500 jobs somewhere ? Do you seriously believe that?

This lad needs advice, get an autism diagnosis and it's all forgotten. You can then try and break into the Pentagons security and then other peoples bank accounts with pretty much immunity??? Hope he is from a one parent family that is totally dysfunctional and then BLM will be on his side??? Maybe he is just a right little bastard that needs a good hiding(where are the liberals when it's an uncomfortable stand that is needed?)....

The BBC are obsessed with racism so I dont suppose its any surprise any story like this is going to take precedence over just about anything else as far as theyre concerned. Some dickhead 12 year old calling someone famous a black c*nt on twatter is a huge story for them.

You have to be 13 to register an account on Twitter, maybe the social platforms should take more responsibility for enforcing adherence to their policies?? There’s far too much harmful content out there that an 8, 9, 10, 11 or indeed 12 year old doesn’t have the awareness and life skills to deal with and be influenced by...they need protecting from it (although this individual is obviously a vile little sod who is going to quickly learn the meaning of regret). 12 year olds should be on Club Penguin not Twitter or Pornhub. Whilst I agree with you that the social media platforms have to take more responsibility for underage people using it, it's not always easy to do. People just put a different date of birth on there so they appear to be old enough. There also needs to be much more responsibility taken by parents. In most cases, not only do they condone their children having accounts whilst underage, they actively encourage it. This. Same goes for them buying 10 year olds GTA and Call of Duty just cos everyone else does. They are 18's for a reason.

Come on - the general public like to blame the government, the media (and the BBC in particular), etc. for everything. It's never them at fault, or Bob from down the pub, Mary from bingo, or Uncle Dave.

I always find it incredible the number of 9 year olds who have these games. I wouldn't let my son have GTA because it wasn't suitable, although I had to give in after Wembley 2017 because much earlier in the season he'd asked me if he could have it if we got promoted. Knowing we wouldn't get promoted, I said yes. Mind you he was 15 by that time and one of the sensible ones.

Yeah 15 is a different kettle of fish, I imagine we'd all seen 18 rated films by that point. But 8/9/10 year olds playing GTA blows my mind. I don't have kids though so easy for me to say.

Wouldnt be surprised if it turned out to be an adult coercing him to do it (even if the 12 yr old was of the same mindset) knowing that legally a 12 yr old would be legally treated differently to an adult.

My missus works with 4 and 5 year olds. You wouldnt believe some of the stuff parents let even kids of that age watch.
We spend a lot of time teaching kids stuff at high school that unless they actually go into a career in that field is pretty useless.
Maybe theres a an argument to have more emphasis on knowledge that just about all of them will need.. parenting being one... mortgages, pensions etc being others. Sort of things you should be able to trust parents to teach their kids to a point,, but theres a lot of parents now who cant even be arsed to teach their kids how to hold a knife and fork, tie their shoelaces, wipe their own arse and get dressed, so that isnt likely to improve when the topic gets tougher to teach.

Me and a mate went to see an 18 rated film when we were 15. It was called 'The Dirty Dozen' and we thought we were in for a real treat; imagine our disappointment

Many parents aren`t fit to have kids in the first place, often its children having children, trying to bring them up in an adult like way when they`re teenagers themselves just isnt right.

I could do with some community leaders, politicians and celebrities to come out and state that 'there is some radicalisation of our young people' but the rest of us whites are 'law abiding moderates' ?

My son is 12. I'm astounded that a kid his age could do what the lad has done to Zaha. Social media is a scourge.
Am glad it wasn't about when I was 12.

Absolutely right. Too many parents want to be their child's friend, not their parent. They don't want to say no to them because they can't be bothered dealing with the fall out, and they're worried their child won't like them anymore. My friend works with 6 and 7 year olds. She says exactly the same as your wife - the children have no grasp of basic life and social skills.

They're not your mate they're your child FFS. Ask the child if they think their mum and dad are their mate and I can only imagine the answer.
