www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-championship/No Matter how I play this out I have us going down . Tonight's game Birmingham Vs Charlton is massive, we really need a Birmingham win. Luton Hull draw would be ideal Saturday but that's hugely unlikely so it would then be up to Blackburn (with nothing to play for) to beat Luton last game. Wigan will win of their last games to take them above us so I reckon going to be Barnsley Hull, and one of us Luton/Charlton. The Birmingham v Charlton game is critical. If Charlton win this they are above us with a superior goal difference, They won't get anything from their last two Wigan and Leeds. Hull and Barnsley won't get the required points to go above of us.

Trying to figure out what the best result from the Hull v Luton game is (assuming we have lost to WBA by this point) A win for either side means the other one cannot catch us. The winner would then need to better our result in the last match to overtake us. Cardiff vs Hull / Luton vs Blackburn A draw means they can both catch us but they'd both need to win their final game. That scenario is a bit too close to the 2000/2001 season for comfort.

It worries me that the top 5 places are all going to be decided this weekend.
That makes the last round of fixtures look a lot different. Potentially only Millwall and Cardiff left with anything to play for.

Can’t see Charlton finishing above us. They’ve scored 3 goals in the last 9 games! Tonight’s game has draw written all over it. They are playing Birmingham though. Even we beat Birmingham... scoring 3 goals in the process, may I add! Also, if Charlton were to draw tonight and also draw against Wigan on Saturday, and we lose our next two as I expect, we'd end up going down on GD. Mind you, we'd actually stay up in that scenario as Wigan would only be above us by 11 points, so once the 12 point deduction is applied then we're fine. UTT!! Charlton will not draw against Wigan. Wigan are effectively on 45 points with two games to play. They need the win against Charlton to draw level with us, they will be well up for it. Wigan's last game is Fulham they will not want to be going into that requiring a win.

Let's see!

We're playing Millwall not Barcelona If we can't pick up a point there to save ourselves then we deserve to go down It’s a fair point, a little over 2 years ago we managed draws against Man City and Chelsea to stay up, a draw against West Brom or mor likely Millwall shouldn’t be beyond us at all

QPR are in terrible form since lockdown so would have to fancy Millwall to beat them.
Hull v Luton will be interesting...a Hull win looks like the best result for us, and they will have a point to prove after losing 8-0 . We went three unbeaten after losing 10-1 to Man City.

I've got us going down, though it all boils down to tonight's match.
Hopefully Birmingham can return the favour we did them when we saved them from relegation when we made the playoffs.

I recall four last day relegation matches, all at home - 1973, 1987 (Millwall 3-0), 2001 (shudder) and 2013 (two games after again beating Millwall 3-0), but never one away.
By the way, with the right scores it is possible to have all the bottom 8 finishing with 49 points.
