I read a few posts on here saying it will be great to have a new man in who can give the likes of Kongolo, Prichard, Mbenza, Diakhaby and co the fresh start they need and get us playing again. Does he have secret magical skills to achieve that?
This sounds like Deja Vu to me from last season and rumours of these jokers 'ripping' up the championship. That worked out well didn't it.
I would be gutted if we get a new man in who integrated these time wasters and lazy players back into the squad.
What does it say about their attitude this and last season of they suddenly start trying now?
Even if it works, which is debatable it is a bit of a slap in the face to the fans for the last 2 years.
I don't care if you are the genie from pissing Aladdin you could not use your wish to make Diakhaby a professional footballer.

Diakhaby and MBenza both had good reps before joining us. If the new gaffer can get the best out of them then good luck to him.

The OP has a great point and when I heard the Cowleys had been sacked, my first thought was that Phil thinks the reputed cash value of the shithouse players we've been subjected to over the last two years far outweighs the potential of a full rebuild.
The chairman has opted for Kongolo, Pritch, Diakhaby, etc over the Cowleys.
What a tool... lol.

The only players who were touted by the Euro footie press were Mounie with all his headed goals in the French top division and Kongolo as a disgruntled young Dutch star stuck at Monaco

If you know those players will still be here (who on earth would BUY them and their wages?) there is an argument that you should try yet again to get some kind of performance out of them if you're paying them the wages they're supposedly on. Big Phil said they weren't bad players, just here "at the wrong time".

Well they were shite for three different managers so good luck to the next poor fucker. He hasn't chosen any players over the Cowleys, he has made a decision based on what the Cowleys did and didn't do in their tenure, and as a result of that he has decided that their leaving is in the best interests of the club.

He was a turd polisher back in Spain.
The whole basis of the takeover was that the squad was worth approaching 100 million pounds. I can understand why Phil doesn’t want to write this money off.

He's stated that's NOT the case though. He's happy with what they did results and performance wise, but doesn't see eye to eye with their philosophy of how to run a football club.

It's a management not a football decision.

After the honeymoon period we got to 20th in the league on the 28th October after 14 games. Fast forward 10 months and 24 games later and we got to 22nd in the league and even a point closer to the bottom of the table. Yes we got the initial boost but we hardly continued to progress.

Yeah that was odd. He was actually getting a tune out of Diakhaby at that point. He actually did better with the troublemakers than after January when he had some of his own men.

As bad as Diakhaby has been he was actually playing well before that game. Blackburn away he was unplayable for half an hour.

You can't hint Diakhaby had a few good games you'll get shot down in flames because don't you know that Diakhaby and Mbenza are the same player and played absolutely diabolical every time they entered a football field.

Not being good enough is one thing....not trying a whole different one. Kongolo had undoubted quality but was unbelievably poor this season. The less said about the sprint twins the better.....neither is any good and the sooner all three are no longer here the better. Preferably they can take hamer, flo, mounie, sobhi et al with them.

Can’t disagree with most of that but it was still bizarre. There was 6 weeks or something to the transfer window with loads of games in between and he’s chucking players on the scrap heap.

Kongolo had an absolute shocker at PNE too. But surely you’ve got to expect wingers to have bad games without bombing them out. I understand the thinking but it suggested they couldn’t find a way to motivate them.
