Any mutters of when it's likely the kits will be released for the upcoming season? What are people's thoughts on the training wear? My thoughts on it, is it looks cheap and tacky, plastic stick on badges. Is it really that much of a problem to have embroidered badges on them? Fans pay good money for the products, but can be short changed.

I think the sales pitch is quite difficult following the PP unsponsored legacy.

Agree re sales pitch but it has been wonderful having my first Town shirt without a sponsor on the front since the Barralan shirt of 1979/80.

You'd have thought with the amount of noise Paddy Power made about the 'Save our Shirt' campaign they'd have committed to more than a year at the clubs involved. Clubs really did get sucked in by them didnt they...

Why are we always the last ones to release the new kit?
Not so this year but it always ruins the chance to wear it on the hols.
The clubs surely miss out financially as I for one don't end up buying on due to it been nearly winter by the time the club release it!

In what way would the paddy power deal effect any future deals?

Motherwell have stuck with no sponsor for new kit Southend have a new sponsor on front Macclesfield have no information regarding a new kit for next season

I think if you have a shirt and take the sponsor off and everyone loves it because it doesn't have a sponsor, as a company you'd think twice about sponsoring that team next and putting your logo on a shirt that folk will then moan about.

If we as fans offered up say £10 each and we put the foundation logo on the front.

Clubs really did get sucked in by them didnt they... I missed you referencing these specific teams earlier as the ones who all did the Paddy Power 'Save our Shirt' campaign, so..And Town - no sponsor at all for the front of the shirt and it is the new Commercial Director's main priority to sort one. At this late stage of the game, I should think the shirts are all stored in a warehouse somewhere in the country awaiting the affixing of the logo on of whomever we finally get. Hope it's not like the big stick-on OPE monstrosity that was retro-fitted on to the first PL shirt.

wouldn't it be great for town to get lots of local sponsors on their kit?.. you can see kits of other teams and they have sponsors pretty much anywhere it can fit on the kit.

Anyone have any idea what it costs to sponsor (or not sponsor) Town in the Championship? OPE were paying a reputed £1.5M per season. I’ve got it in my head that Pure paid £250k for the privilege in our promotion season but could be wrong (remember reading the accounts a the time or a Kieran Maguire summary). Post Covid times it would be very much lower I would have thought.

Didn't Phil also have the automatic right to be the main shirt sponsor in the PL season, but graciously stepped aside to allow the club to reap the benefits? Anyway, if the club asked everyone to chuck a tenner in for a sponsor-free shirt, how many would take the option up?

Which is why he ended up as the arm sponsor on the first team shirt and I think also the main shirt sponsor for the youth team. I don’t really know how many would - if the club have a figure in mind what the front of the shirt is worth, they could have offered the fans the option to try and raise the figure by whatever means and allow us to pick the sponsor - a local charity one would be great.

But a bit embarrassing if they didn't achieve the figure from the fans, so had to go back to half-interested companies who'd then know they could drive a really hard bargain. Or just do what every other Championship club does: Sell it to some random Asian betting company which doesn't even operate on these shores.

The training wear looks nasty. New kit always, always late! They must miss hundreds of sales.

The training wear looks nasty. New kit always, always late! They must miss hundreds of sales. Over the years I’ve spent hundreds of pounds at the club shop. Just looked at what’s available (so far ) for the new season, the training gear looks awful, it may be functional for the players and staff but I really can’t see it appealing to supporters. I assume the fact that we were waiting to secure Championship status before looking for a sponsor will be the excuse for yet another delayed shirt launch. Lost our way on this big time.

From memory I think the PL sponsorship was around £500,000 (I may be wrong). However the trick they pulled is a one off so can't see it being them unless they simply have their name on our shirt.
I know that finances are tight but I'd love to see the shirt sponsor given to charity permanently with a vote for ST holders at the end of each season to decide.

No doubt the new kits will be announced at some random venue like castle hill with 3 new signings wearing them.
