Examiner led to believe by the club that they have a wide player already lined up to join the squad before Fridays 5pm deadline... Be arrons, let’s hope Maynard is correct and there’s a couple more as well otherwise I’d be worried In Maynard we trust

He’s deffo in hudds as he was at Bacunas hairdresser yesterday ! If he's any sense he'll steer well clear of whoever does Bacunas barnet Better than going to Matt Glennon.

Agreed, but the fact that Kenny Irons has said it's a potential signing makes me think it's not true. Would be happy to eat humble pie but my fork is still in the drawer. Cheers pal

Rolando Aarons still on house arrest in Lepton
I'm with a customer down Leeds Road later so i'll swing through the Mcdonald's drive through and have a glare into Canalside

Sounds like a younger RVLP to me, bags of pace, carries the ball well upfield but no real end product & the fans are generally split. www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/282846-rolando-aarons/?tab=comments#comment-8647764If he does come I hope we can keep him fit & CC can get him firing.

Interesting, Motherwell were more so on the love him side, seems a pacey, tricky winger who like you say carry's the ball well...

If he was any good at Wednesday he wouldnt have then joined Wycombe, a mid table League One side and then on to Motherwell, who are arguably the same level. He'll be rubbing his hands together if we are in for him. It'd also show that our board have no real interest in breaking into the top half of the championship, never mind going for promotion again.

Agreed, how uninspiring. Literally a laughing stock our recruitment. Woodrow, Curtis, Wilson all available but no we go for someone fucking Aarons. Genuine question where are our goals going to come from this season?

It could have gotten really boring by now if they had.

Pipa, Eiting and Sarr look useful so the players we are going for should be alright. It can be argued that we still need a striker and probably a better keeper. They've also managed to clear out/are clearing out some players that weren't on board (Hadergjonaj, Grant, Kongolo, Sobhi, Reece Brown). The best time to look at the window to see how they've done is after 5pm tomorrow.

To be fair, it’s a question that has been asked a lot, and I’ve not seen a proper or articulate answer. If we are relying on Ward and Campbell to score the goals, with others hopefully chipping in, it’s going to be a long season. 30 hours to go until the window closes.

If he does come we obviously have to reserve judgement but (not reserving judgement) his statistics and career record don't inspire any confidence , BUT he's cheap and helps us get to that mythical el dorado when we're "debt free" ...In the meantime we rely on CC to be a magician and turn non-scorers into scorers.

A great sarcastic response to my comment but the window shuts tomorrow and we have been linked with no one who can score a goal. All about saving money as we don't know what the future will hold.....
Well i can assure you it will be League 1 and administration if we don't sign some actual quality.

We dont score enough goals all over the pitch, sadly, 3 new players arent going to make us free scoring, especially when you consider the one we know about has 5 goals in 70 games. Its going to be a long season of sneaking 1-0's or 1-1's. Maybe we are using moneyball to target the underrated and undervalued defence as our strategy... but then we stick hamer in the net.

I remember us sneaking a lot of 1 goal margin wins in the 2016/7 season. Awfully weird that nobody gave much of a shit about that back then, given that some seem to feel that that approach will definitely send us down this season.

The 2016/2017 was built on solid foundations, we had a lot of one goal margin victories but a defence that was solid, a midfield that had quality and we created chances up top
This current squad is pretty poor at the back, still feel we have a bit of quality in the middle but up top is absolutely non existent

Well, then you're even more of a genius than I initially gave you credit for. I'm also far more sarcastic than you'd ever know.

It will be abit of a nothing season, offer the fans nothing and they will offer nothing back. The clubs worried about Covid and the lack of supporters, yet they seem to want to push the supporters away with dour football, dour communication and a dour entertainment product. 11000 season tickets will be a good effort next season, The lack of interest in the closed club at the moment is staggering, Attendances will be down around 10-14k next year i reckon, without some major changes in recruitment, playing style and communication.

Latest twitter rumours suggest Burnley are back in for O’Brien. Must stress these are ‘rumours’, but one worth watching maybe Given Dyche spends fifty percent of his time defending the indefensible and the other fifty whingeing and whining that he's got no money to spend, I don't see this happening at all. Well not unless they're going for a "Covid deal" and spreading the payments over 25 years.

For me the only time we can judge the club this window is after 5pm tomorrow, I’ve been quick to have a go at the club and recruitment team but although early days the signings of pipa, eiting and Sarr look good business for the club. The sales of grant and Kongolo will free up money and more importantly wages so hopefully will see some players in today or tomorrow one looks like arrons but I don’t for one minute he’s grants replacement more somebody we know is available covers a couple of positions and is free at the end of season so ideal to take a look. If after 5pm tomorrow we don’t have the players in the questions can rightly be asked of the club as we are putting ourselves in a situation where we won’t score enough goals and no matter how good the football is will struggle.

Dyche has come out this morning and said it's unlikely they will make any more signings. They have also just signed Dale Stephens so can't see them needing another midfielder
