Its taken 11 fucking months to come up with David Nugent...... The meltdown would be bigger than if we signed no-one.

Not saying it is true or not but, Nugent would fit in with some of our recent signings like Puncheon, Simpson, Elphick, Stearman...
The club keep saying they want to follow Brentford's model of buying young talent, then proceed to sign old donkeys on long contracts.

Oh, no, you mean like someone we haven’t actually signed (yet) Simpson made a big impact when he signed Stearman hasn’t let anyone down either

I would rather us look down the leagues like we did with Grant for a young hungry striker than go for Nugent. We were attractive to Grant cos we could offer a bit of PL football for him to showcase himself and we had the dough to gamble c£2m on him as near out of contract. Other suitors in the Championship weren't as lucky.

I’m calling bullshit.
Nixon spouting usual rubbish about our transfer targets - probably Nugent’s agent paying him to get some late media attention and interest.

Made a howler in pretty much every one and has been crocked since. Simpson was decent but tailed off massively towards the end of the season. We shouldn't have even let ourselves be in the position where we needed to pick up a free agent because we didn't have a RB. Stearman is steady, but I would rather have Critchlow and Edmonds-Green thrown in alongside Schindler or Sarr and invest his salary in some promising talent. My point was more that we want to have this model of investing in youth and selling on, yet we keep signing older players that the club will never make money on, either because they are past their best, or crocked. It is a complete sticking plaster job constantly.

We've had weeks to sort our buisness, 3 deals in a day was always going to be on the verge of impossible.

Pitchforks being sharpened in the villages of Huddersfield. Not true. They've already been worn to the hilt.

I am either excited or need a wee, not sure which. That would be very good, but a tad unlikely.

Surely people aren't believing Nugent are they? Nixon is quite reliable. Don't get me wrong he isn't always accurate, but he never makes things up Yes he does.

Proper budget version of deadline day on Sky Sports News today. They've not even wheeled out Bryan Swanson to explain what a deal sheet is yet.
