The issue he may have is if the coach feels we lack height. Crichlow is just 6' but Sarr is 6' 5", and very experienced. He did himself a lot of good tonight though. Forest may be on a bad run but they have a lot of very good players and he looked very capable against them. Get your point, but many great centrebacks under 6 foot. Baresi, Puyol, Cannavaro, Koeman, Beckanbauer, Moore, De Boer. On the other side of the coin Quaners feet rarely left the ground when it came to headers, it's about using what you've got. Keegan used to get well up for someone under 5'8". Back to Chrichlow, don't want to put pressure on the lad but he looks very promising from the little I've seen so far.

Funny old game football. A few months ago he was struggling in non league and now looks at home in the Championship Another 12 months he will be playing for England... 12 months after he will be playing Earth vs Neptune. I think Neptune as king of the oceans may have his own Covid bubble (s) As such unavailable for professional sport

Bloody hell lads put the hand bags away. We’ve won. Apologies, this guy just gets on my tits. Very fair observation did you know he plays for the cock wombles?

Think some of the comments on this thread are getting a bit carried away. Better than this player or that player... it was one game, and yes the lad had a good solid match. Theres a lot of potential there though clearly. Think in that position in this division, he'll need to strengthen up a bit physically before hes making the position his own. That will just come with time naturally cos at the moment hes still a bit gangly and will get outmuscled a fair bit. But in the meantime its good that we know hes an good option should we need him. Tbf Schindler gets outmuscled every week

Going to be an interesting choice when Schindler and Sarr are fit... All of a sudden we have gone from debating a paper thin squad to selection headaches for the coach 😃 At CB, we DO have a selection headache. In RS, CS, NS, REG & RC we have 5 options for CB & there's not one of them that I'd be unhappy to see in the starting XI. We have a selection headache of a different kind higher up the pitch! What yesterday's performance showed though was that the biggest problem we've had is not a lack of talent but the standard of coaching & the mindset of the players. Hamer, Diakhaby, Mbenza have all looked significantly better under CC than under previous managers/head coaches. It's going to be an interesting season.

Really good interview with this lad in the Derby programme (available online through the ticket site)
Not ashamed to say I had a tear in my eye through parts of it. Seems like a genuine lad and I really hope he makes it at Town.

Would love to see a back 3 of Crichlow, Schindler and Sarr. I'm liking the 3-5-2 formation but I shit myself every time Stearman gets the ball

Sarr looks to have a serious clanger in him every game but his passing into midfield is on another level to any other centre half on the books. He whips it in to feet with pace and accuracy, often through the lines helping us to move forward quicker. Stearman and Schindler are too much sideways at a slow pace

Pass completion presumably as well as distance covered and.....?

I'll be happy to see him given another chance with Sarr suspended

I'll be happy to see him given another chance with Sarr suspended He was unlucky to lose his place in my opinion - I'm not as worried about Sarr being suspended as I would have been without Crichlow being able to take his place.

I’m expecting to see Crichlow, Jack Payne and Phillips in the flesh over the next couple of weeks with Sutton due to play at home to Swindon, next Tuesday, and then Walsall.

Spoke to a supplier today who is a Rotherham fan and he said REG has been outstanding since he settled. Wished they had him permanently

The kid has something imo, we’d be daft to let him go just yet.

By the time REG & RC's loans finish, Colwill will have gone back to Chelsea so that's one CB vacancy available. Naby Sarr's contract will also be up unless it's extended, although I hope it is. If we're playing 3 at the back then it's worth having 5 options in there IMO.

Is it me or does Crichlow looked to have filled out? He seemed noticeably bigger than the other players and from that short video, he seemed quite explosive in pace. Breezed past players. When he won the man of the match in last season’s opener, we all thought we had a player, and by the positive reports it seems like a full season of game time is exactly what he needed. Hopefully he can step up next year.
