Phil and Dean - I presume you know the window opens then - how much do you think we can get for Lewis and Harry ? Enough to afford the Motherwell/Wycombe loanee

Millwall won 2-0 tonight with Kenneth Zahore scoring for them. He’s nowt special but he’s a million miles out of our league. That’s shameful

Throw in pipa too. Phil will be rubbing his hands with his performances.
Good summer holiday for Phil and the Mrs when Lewis Harry and pipa all go in January and we bring in nugent and arrons.
The 2 wins paper over all the cracks and Phil is very much to blame for this poor window.

Reckon you’d find a league 1 outfit who’d take Hogg too. And maybe revive the bacca to rangers deal. That might stretch the budget to a resign of Andy king for half a season.

Part of me thinks this. Part of me thinks so it’s the January window. We didn’t do the business we needed to do during the last window, why we doing any meaningful business in the next window?

I'm actually finding myself scouring the free agent list as we speak.

This board sees all types of people from different backgrounds, colour, political persuasion who can offer a cogent argument. However, we cannot regulate for those with low IQ who also have a right to post and create threads such as this.

Don’t seem to be many decent free agents about to plug the gaps between now and January.
It cannot come quickly enough.

Club will end up wasting a load of money again on short term stop gap signings from the bottom of the barrel. Or maybe all those thousands of out of work footballers due to covid Phil was on about will suddenly materialise and we can cherry pick some real quality for nothing and pay them five hundred quid a week.

I'd rather have him in the squad than Diakhaby. He'd atleased give us some cover as a striker aswell because atm we're expecting a 33 year old with no pre-season behind him to play 3 games in a week. It's crazy that PH thought CC could manage with the players at his disposal & still expected to bring the exciting, attacking football he was brought in to deliver. I'm in no way saying Quaner is the answer but atleased he'd be some kind of cover.

I am not expecting too much to happen in January, because we cleared out in the shortened summer window and showed very little interest in finding replacements then, will this change in January?
The sale of Grant followed the expected drag on to the close of the window where we apparently missed our target by 2min. Somehow the excuses at the end of the window were expected based on the feedback (or was that the lack of feedback) we were getting and what we have gone through in previous windows.
This is Town after all we do not go for big expensive deals and when we have we have ended up burning our fingers. It would have not taken much to lift the spirits of the team or the supporters given the transfers fees recouped and the reduced wages the management have saved. The management team managed to find Pipa for a small fee so a couple more of them we all would have found a lot less complaining on this site.

The replies to my post of possibly the usual suspects both amuse and annoy me.
I am not of "low IQ" etc and have every right to express my opinion. People may strongly disagree, find it repetitive, whatever, but a cogently argued well reasoned response would be much more likely to shut me up than some of the patronising aggressive replies.
This board is supposed to be a vehicle where people can express their views. You may totally disagree with what I say, find it boring, but if you look at my posts (and I hope you can't be bothered) you will not find any bad language or personal insults in them, apart from when I wrongly used the term "happy clapper". I apologised for that.

I apologised for that. We do seem to be split in to two camps those that seem happy with letting the owner carry on and do whatever they want and those who want to see a some form of investment in the club. If you wanted to see a reasoned argument I don't believe that your opening statement was the best way to encourage this. On the other hand the detractors went straight to the go away and shut up response. I don't think that you or any of us will come to a reasonable agreement with the majority of the people with opposing views but so don't expect anything else and you won't be disappointed. This does not just relate to transfer policy but to just about any other point you care to imagine.

Next summer is when we really need to go for it and give Carlos the players he needs
Im assuming the following are out of contract:
Hamer Schindler Stearman Elphick Hogg Pritchard Diakhaby Campbell
Thats some serious money off the wage bill and will allow Carlos to really start to shape the squad in his image

Come January when we all realise Covid will be around for 4/5 years at least, we are unlikely to be in Grounds before say 2023 then we sell anybody worth anything to keep the club going.

Stop being a pessimist soft boy. Just to clear things up I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 40 years and was involved at various times with clinical work and indeed viruses. Covid in some form will be with us a lot longer than 4 to 5 years as there has only been one vaccine cure and that’s smallpox. We will like with flu learn to live with it and adapt accordingly. This pandemic has been a reality check for over inflated salaries for mediocre players and championship clubs will buy and sell at a more realistic market rate. You only have to look at the last transfer window which saw a drop of 75% on the previous window spend. This means clubs will have to rely on deals as with such as Pipa and developing in house talent. In saying that there will always be clubs with a bit more cash however like us they will also have to prepare for the unknown and such as gambling revenues drying up due to future legislation. I believe our chairman has done the right thing in keeping money in the bank to see us through whatever period of time our current predicament lasts. Let’s hope some good deals can be done and then in the summer we offload some if not all of those underperforming high salary players. We have I feel a potentially great manager who is trying to bring entertainment back to the club. Our chairman has picked up one hell of a mess and if you think it can be resolved in a short space of time then you are wrong. Let’s get behind the club in the current difficult times as it’s damned hard for any business to operate in times such as these. UTT.

Schindler, Stearman, Hogg and Campbell are the only ones I'd like to even be contemplated to be kept, but they are all over 30.... Elphick, I'd be surprised if he plays again. Pritchard, things just haven't worked out here. Theres a player in there, but it's just not working here. Diakhaby, enough said. Hamer, well, if he does leave then we just have Schofield... Regarding this window, I'd love to see some moves, but seriously, I'm not really expecting any changes other than Rolando Aarons. I'd like a striker for sure, but whether or not we will get one is another matter. If we can hold onto Toff and Pipa, that'd be a great result.

Those that decline will leave and be replaced by any player who will accept those terms.I cannot see any improvements in playing staff in the near future. There is also the possibility that we will be in Lge.1
