"Huddersfield Town have been tipped to battle it out with Birmingham City and Derby County to sign AFC Wimbledon striker Joe Pigott. The ex-Charlton striker has scored six goals in eleven league games this season."
Not to be confused with Joe Piggott(also a striker at Wigan)
This Joe is 26, and is not someone whose stats suggest is exciting. Last season scored 9 goals in 39 games, playing the full 90 minutes in all but 5 matches. He's only reached double figures twice. I don't know much about him but couldn't see us spending on him in January with Phillips and Harratt available.

Ian Wright came good at 26! So they always say.

Ian Wright came good at 26! So they always say. By the time he was 26 he'd had 4 full seasons with palace, scoring double figures in 3 of them and had scored 75 goals in 180 matches. Piggott is now in his 8th and scored just two more goals having played 101 more games. Apples and oranges.

Seen him plenty times for AFCW. Could possibly make it at Championship level, but I’m not convinced he will. Told Town about Max Watters at Crawley.

Not the most exciting signing but a solid addition imo. The fact that he's captain while playing as a striker speaks volumes about his character, he wouldn't be coming as the main man and having a specialist striker backing up ward and Campbell rather than having to move Koroma or Mbenza would make our squad stronger

Would be more excited if we signed Lester.

Would be more excited if we signed Lester. I just googled Lester Piggott to see if he was dead. He is not!! But he has just turned 85. Do you know he had 4,493 career wins. Now by anybody's standards - that is a lot...That's an average of a win a day every fuckin day for 12.3 years. I doff my cap in his general direction.

Well I have got the Jockey bug now. Sir Gordon Richards - who is dead btw. Is even better than old Lester - shoving him into second place on the all time greatest ever Jockey list, with a massive 4,870 wins. This is mind boggling stuff.

Lester is in fine fettle these days, probably more life like than when he was in the saddle! Check some of the great US jocks for their career stats - such as Angel Cordero 7057 wins ...

Would be underwhelming, to say the least.
