My wife's maiden name was Wang. Her first husband's surname was Kerr. It was a custom in her country to combine surnames. What's so funny about Mrs Kerr-Wang? When metal-head Jonathon Ross was interviewed by the music media about what struggles he's had during the pandemic - he told them that most of all he Mrs Kerr-Wang magazine. đł

Top summary from Mr Chicken; for the Town fans not to be able to say a fond farewell to a true Town legend would be an absolute travesty...

Schindler's injury might work out to the benefit of Town.
Consider this: The UK will be out of Covid lockdown months before the rest of Europe (that's not just me taking Johnson's word for it, but from looking at the effectiveness of the vaccines and the excellent vaccine rollout in this country). UK football clubs are going to be short on cash, it will be even worse for clubs in Europe. Especially with Europe having 3 extra months of lockdown.
Schindler in the summer will be a player coming back from 7 month injury including surgery. He is 30 years old. How many clubs would be willing to take a chance on a 30yr old recently recovered player who's played no football since December when they don't have money?
Town could offer a reasonable contract for 1 or 2 years to Schindler in the summer. It might be mutually beneficial given the circumstances.

On taking & scoring the winning penalty âYou paid more money for me than youâve paid for anyone else in this club. You made me the clubâs record signing. So, I had a duty to give a bit of value back to youâ
What a man.

However if the UK has a 3 month head start on European clubs in terms of revenue generation then there might not be many club who could offer Schindler a reasonable deal. If coming out of lockdown proceeds as laid out, UK clubs will be able to sell season tickets with the guarantee of being able to enter the stadium and watch live. If the EU's vaccine program continues in its shambolic state (people not turning up for AZ jab because of the bad-mouthing of EU politicians even though the real word data consistently showing the AZ jab very effective in all age groups) then European football will still be behind closed doors at the beginning of next season.

I would love to see Shindler given a new contract, have just rewatched the play off final highlights on sky sports brought back great memories still felt a shiver down my spine when shindlers penalty went in,the lows supporting town might get very low but nothing beats the highs winning play off finals.

Very sad if he disappears without the send-off he deserves.

When did we sign Schindler? When did we sign Kongolo? FFS of course I know Schindler was our then record signing, two years before we paid TEN times that amount for Kongolo. It was reflecting on the attitude and return the club and fans got back for the investment on the two signings, if your not sure I did put a like on his post. For the record I can also well remember when Buxton paid a then club record for Tracy.

Pound for pound a far better signing than Kongolo, was an undoubted success for the second half of the season when he joined, had a mare the following season but at least he kept trying before leaving in a straight swap for Darryl Pugh who wasnât the worst winger weâve seen either.

He'll be 31 by then but I still can't see that being a huge problem for him being a centre half not really renowned for pace anyway. From what I've heard he's quite desperate to get home and would have ideally been back by now and whilst I certainly don't think he's downed tools or anything like that his performance level had dipped a bit before his injury. You could ask how many clubs would be willing to potentially sign a couple of strikers who between them haven't played for around 19 months... The fact he hasn't played because of injury and still a decent age for a centre half won't put off some decent teams being after him.

I remember him scoring on his debut against Hull and we thought we had one hell of a player on our hand's!!. Now to a totally different class, Christoph Schindler he will be in the record book's for that winning penalty and in all my 55 yrs watching Town, he is definitely in my top ten of favourite Town player's, lets hope we see him in a Town shirt again.

Iâm sure heâll get some help from Herr Wagner if heâs decided to return home.

What a contrast between those two! Exactly my point, Schindler repaid us 10 ten times over, Kongolo didnât justify 1/10th of what we paid to sign him, never mind the wages on top. Itâs a point thatâs been made several times in the Potless Phil and sign a striker threads, as fans we tend to be a bit âMehâ when buying an inexpensive, lower league player and ââWoohooâ at an expensive name but it often doesnât follow the form book.

It's a measure of the man that nobody is saying he owes us anything, and we're all unanimously disappointed that we're not getting the chance to say goodbye and mark his time in a Town shirt properly.
Like Löwe, it seems he wants to return to Germany and we're prepared to let him go with our blessing, as one of the Town greats.
Herr Schindler, it has been a pleasure.

Once all the Covid restrictions have been lifted, I'd love to see a testimonial match for Schindler at the JSS.
A proper chance for the fans to say goodbye & thank you. Whether he plays for the club again or not, for his last action to be a game played behind closed doors is not a fitting send off for a legend.

I'm guessing the timing of this missed BoJo's 4 month extension announcement? The EFL season will be over by the time fans are allowed anywhere near a stadium, with full Covid restrictions not lifted until AT LEAST the weekend of Boris's birthday in mid to late June. No doubt by then, the government will find another excuse to retain control over the proles, such as another super-dooper virulent mutation. We've got every chance of being the first country in Europe to fully vaccinate and the last to regain any freedoms. As a top earner, I expect Uncle Scrooge will not want to renew Schindler's contract when kids and journeymen work cheaper.
