I've heard a rumour that Phil has bought the Leeds Road Retail Park and is knocking down Greggs, B&Q, Home Bargains, Argos etc.
The plan is for a new, mainly standing stadium designed by Leitchibald Arch with huge open terraces, a few seats in the main stand and a small shed that stinks of piss behind one of the goals.
The JSS site will be developed as a COVID19 hospital and ski-slope for those affected by depression due to lockdown.

I would argue Holmes would come to us in his prime so the chance of him being a success is higher. He must be better than Pritchard surely. That bar has been set very low.

Jon Stead. Should've left it as a beautiful memory. Came back and got the winner against Leeds = success

I don't know anyone who prefers it to the first album.

I don't know anyone who prefers it to the first album. Because it isn’t a patch on it.

It isn't but then there was a lot to live up to and a lot more going on when the second album was released. There are some gems that seem to have got better with time and were lifted when actually played live during the reformation. Keaveny plays tracks regular, driving south only this afternoon. Back on track, generally, second comings don't tend to work out football wise. A notable managerial one was Peter Jackson, but would we all clamour for Herr Wagner to be re-instated compared to what we are seeing now?

Breaking into Heaven, Tears, Daybreak, Begging You, Love Spreads...there are some phenomenal tunes on there, it just lacks the vibe and euphoric, rolling rhythms of their eponymous debut.
I’m really glad they called it a day after the two new tunes they released. I saw them at Heaton Park and they were superb, the studio stuff wasn’t up to their original standard though.

Remember it getting panned in the NME and Melody Maker upon release but I loved it from day one and I actually think it's aged better than the first. Don't think there's a bad song on there and other than the first 4 and a half minutes of nothingness leading into 'Breaking into Heaven' it's pure class.

Beautiful Thing wasn't bad. Has the real swaggering groove of Fools Gold. Not for me, though. I prefer more the jangle pop stuff. But as for All For One - that's proof right there that they shouldn't have recorded anything new.

I believe that our first ever second coming was Roy Ellam, followed by Rod Belfitt and Bobby Campbell.

Buxton's second coming, to 'help' Ian Ross, was Jesus-like, of course.

But surely this was in the Ian Brown cannot sing for toffee and actually sounds like he is licking urine off a nettle phase! I walked out of a Roses gig at the Apollo. Brown sounded like he was being throttled by a bouncer, Squire was in his own world, licking his guitar like a juicy snatch and then Kermit came on....I fucked off!

Lots of footballers do really well at a club, but then they return & aren't a patch on what they were first time, but can anyone think of a player that looked better in their second spell at the club than they did in their first?

Only if you include youth players that left and came back in their prime. Examples: Fabregas, Pique to Barca. Matic with Chelsea and like the previous poster said Pogba at Man Utd

Also you could argue Zlatan is better than ever despite his age as he has returned to Milan with them sitting first in Serie A. Think he has 10 goals in 7 games or something like that.

Normally it is only really young players who weren't given a chance first time round - Hummels at Bayern, Crouch at Spurs, Matic at Chelsea. Not many do well, move on and come back successfully. Mind you,you could bracket Holmes into the 'leaving young' category.

Youth players returning aside (& I'd put Holmes into that category, assuming of course that he signs & the signing is a success), Le Saux at Chelsea was probably the only example I could think of.
Sean Morrison *might* count given that he didn't make an appearance in his first loan spell here, but even then - he was still very young, both times. Boothy & Rob Edwards can both count their 2nd spells at the club as having been successful, but you could say that about their first as well.
I suppose there's one thing - Keogh set the bar so low during his loan spell that even with a fucked knee he should be better this time.

Peter Beardsley, I'd say his second spell at Newcastle was better than his first. Even though it was in the twilight of his career.

Although it was only on loan and too brief, Peter Butler. We would have probably won the play-offs if we'd managed to keep him.
