Presumably they’d have to pay up if they moved him on. It may be dressed up as a swap but I’m sure there’ll be accounting requirements to price the assets involved.

Yup - if a player moves on to a 3rd club whilst the 2nd club (Bournemouth) is still paying the 1st club (Town), then all monies due to the 1st club are settled as part of that transfer (outstanding fees, sell-on clauses etc).

Good news, I've no doubt the money will definitely be invested in new players to help stave off relegation.

Blimey, he could be on for 3 PL relegations in 3 seasons 😳.

Final nail in the coffin of Bruce losing the plot if this is true.
But if it means we get some money to be reinvested to update Canalsides menu or a new lawn mower, I'm all for it

Not all good news. Just think about the tax implications! Might use up our budget for January signings.

Richard Keogh driving gloves/drinks holder combo? USA flag with "Duane" embossed on? Ben Hamer/Pereira teflon gloves?

Geographically speaking, Newcastle IS closer to Bury than Bournemouth is, although it's an unusual route if that's how he's doing it.

I get this all the time at work - don’t need it for the “escapism “ of following my football team.

Somehow the whole of the 18m will go because of tax. Leaving nothing for Carlos and requiring us to use 10 million from Koroma to pay some more tax, but we may have 100k left over to pay for someone we let go for not been good enough.

I thought that was just the past tense for the word, "choose", which would be an odd insult.
