Shame Mbenza the leech doesn't want to go. We should have known extending his contract would lead to him continuing to sit on his arse collecting £64,000 a month. Why would he have incentive to leave when he knows no one else will pay him as handsomely as we have? What do I mean? Well... On rough calculations... £11.25m transfer fee £16,000/week £13,750,000 total expenditure 6150 minutes played £2,250/minute played 6 goals, 9 assists = £900,000 per goal or assist we've paid Or, from Isaacs cushty perpective, he's earnt £55k per goal or assist. Nice. Can you work that out for Diakhaby and Pritchard too ? That'd make interesting reading. I'd love to but as one poster pointed out, there was a reduction in salary when we were relegated and it seems to be hard to get a hold of that information. It would only be a ball park figure... |

Must be nice when £189m is something you can turn down Reported on SSN that they went back in with a 220m+ offer and PSG ignored it so they pulled out. Crazy It's sickening that there's poverty and suffering out there yet a club can offer a quarter of a billion for one player. |

Silly boy Mbenza is Reece brown may still go. I hope they both move on. Mbenza for obvious reasons, but Brown hasn't exactly worked out either & there are quite a few ahead of him in the pecking order even in a position that most of us agree could still do with strengthening. |

Considering our spending on transfer fees was £0 you have to say we’ve done very well.
Mbenza staying is literally lose/lose for both club and player - hopefully he still moves to turkey or somewhere the window is open
I would have liked Brown out as well as I don’t see him having a future
Loans for some of the older B team would have been good - Jackson, obiero, Elliott maybe austenfield
That said lots of positives and we end the window with a stronger squad than at the end of last season - and that basically says it all about this window!

Agreed. Brown has a valuable squad place and from what Barry Fry said on decent money. We need to lie in the bed we have made and work within budget but at least overall we look much more resilient than 12 months ago. We've done some excellent business.
