It's rank amateurism top to bottom. I'd be surprised if the tea boy could make a decent cuppa. *tea person don’t want to offend anyone. I thought about that....and decided is was too woke for a footy forum and went instead for the long-standing term. My sincerest apologies to any ladies, transgender people, or anyone who identifies as anything they wish to......who make tea.

Its crazier than that Sunderland docu. Fallen faster than a shooting star. 200 mill spaffed....only Town could screw up this badly.

Knee jerk it took them 8 months to appoint him. Am all for a thorough process but tbh you are getting somebody to be in charge of your core business, the most important department of your business. You shouldn’t be inviting applications as a team fresh out the prem you should’ve head hunting the best out there based on the criteria you want. Webb oversaw the only good transfer window we have had in 2 and a half years! Mate, you know jack.. Webb was a poor second choice...he did sod all for this club. More out of his depth than Bromby. Don't buy all the stuff he puts on Twitter. I know it’s been done to death and I know that this is with hindsight but Webber was the one that got (wanted) away. The rest of them, various shades of shit.

I should also add that I don't mean to be disparaging or pejorative about their chosen profession. Of course, making tea doesn't define them in any way. Perhaps they make coffee, or hot chocolate as well. And I'm sure pathways exist to different roles in life from the making of hot beverages. No limits.

You say he was second choice as your so in the know why was the second choice ‘out of his depth’ why have we replaced him with somebody ‘out of there depth’? If as you say Bromby is out of his depth why is he still in a job you say he is unable to do? Is the person in charge out of there depth and that is the core of the issue? Is the recruitment team and infrastructure not up to the industry standards so will hamper anybody trying to move the club forward? What is needed then to get a qualified head of Football that will last more then a few months?

I actually think most of our level headed fans could do a better job of recruitment then the clowns we have currently have doing it.

Went off a cliff after the first three there. We’d have been better not appointing the last last few. Still no idea why Moss left, he had a belting window after promotion. Came in a threw his weight around amongst Wagner and the coaching staff, like he was a proper DOF who was above the manager. As Wagner had just delivered the unthinkable, and that wasn’t Moss’s remit, he was binned. Bollocks. He handed his notice in after the club went ahead with the announcement that the academy was being scrapped. The decision was taken in 2016 and this led to the departures of Mark Lillis, Mick Reid and one other coach, who were sworn to secrecy. The club failed to tell Moss that the academy was going when he got the job and he only found out on the day it was announced. That's why he left.

This just sounds like excuses hiring 4 people not good enough to run a the core department of the business suggests the main issues are elsewhere! Be it how we do our recruitment, the infrastructure or that the the role they were sold and the reality were different. To burn through that many people in a senior role means there is something fundamentally wrong in our operation and it needs a overhaul not maintaining the status quo or promoting those who are in the said failing operation.

The DoF is above the manager in the hierarchy as the manager or coach is under there remit as Director of Football in most set ups! He might well have approached it like a twat for all I know but fundamentally it sounds like he was sold a lie with regards the specs of Head of Football/DOF when really he was employed as head of player recruitment but given a title above the role.

Whichever way round that happened it’s a farce. The guy was there to recruit players and did a good job, like Webber and Wilson (to an extent) before him. These guys, who can plan and have contacts, are vital and now we’ve appointed someone who is basically a former coach to do it.
It’s a desk job that requires a suit. Bromby hasn’t spent his career dealing with budgets.

Don’t necessarily think you have to have dealt with budgets all your life etc ... look at Van der sar at Ajax and Les Ferdinand at QPR , but agreed you need a bit of nouse and contacts . Not just ringing up ex players seeing if they fancy a game

The role isn't above the Head Coach here at all, at best it's in tandem with. It certainly isn't above a Head Coach who had just delivered an unthinkable promotion and was having training methods and team selection openly questioned by some bloke who had been here 2 months and wasn't part of the promotion. But Robsall knows more about it than me.

We knew our we were weak in both defence and attck in January.
In attack because they failed to sort this in the summer and only signed a crocked Danny Ward. And in defence because of our long list of injuries and again, because of poor signings previously.
So for January to come around and them to not even address the problem in attack, and think that Richard Keogh would sort out our defence is beyond staggering.
Even though last season our transfer activity was ahain poor, under David Webb we made some shrewd January loan signings to keep us up.
Lets be clear Phil and Dean pull the purse strings, but Bromby is clearly out of his depth and needs to go.

If they seriously identified Ward and Holmes as two players we needed for our first team they need sacking. Apparently Holmes was on our list for the summer... What is our actual structure for scouting and recruitment? We have a limited budget and Bromby pisses away £10 to 12k a week to these two wasters. Don’t let him waste anymore money! Holmes’ interview... watch that back now, talking absolute bollocks. You lot said they were good signings Where did I say they were good signings ?

How did Bromby even get the job? Webb is good in that role I can't understand why we sacked him and replaced him with an academy coach.
My only guess is that Webb will have been on a good wage as he's been doing that role successfully for a while. Bromby probably on 1/10th of what Webb was earning

Most of the things they do are bizarre, but trying to work them out is not good for your mental health. Just look at the results at the end of the night, see if we have lost again and go back to the important things in life. Football is not that important any more.

The main difference is a Director of Football normally has a seat on the board but they both oversee and are responsible for football matters across all aspects of the club. To have a head of Football below a Head coach is a contradiction in terms and not an accurate reflection of the role which might explain the huge turnover of it is more of head of recruitment and the remit is only recruitment. I agree it is not the Head of Footballs role to interfere in team selection or training that is not there role at all. They should be providing the best tools and resources for the Head Coach to do there job which is prepare a team to win the next match. Again I agree it only works if they share similar visions/goals which is why a Head of Football will normally be above a Head Coach, if that’s not towns model then no wonder it seems a bit off a mess. Ultimately though someone has to be responsible for the football side we all know managers come and go which is why a Head of Football/Dof is the one who needs to be in charge of the direction of ye club on the field. By bringing in coaches and players who share that goal, providing a sustainable succession plan, making sure the train in ground and all aspects of match preparation are correct. Not meaning to sound like having a pop just struggling to grasp our operation as it really makes no sense to me and all seems a bit half baked.

Almost every department in the club is utterly amateur.
Recruitment/scouting - goes without saying.
Players - knock-on of the above.
Physio/treatment/training - something's obviously very wrong.
Media - made my feelings known on this many times, but the video and graphic design output from the club is on the verge of embarrassing.
Marketing - Jarvis was a top bloke, but he had a very scattered and 'tinpot' (for lack of a better phrase) approach. Never any real brand identity laid down other than the stroke of luck through Wagner. Desperate attempts with the Terrier badge. Maybe this is harsh and some might disagree, but even the endless sponsoring of every single aspect of the club feels like a Sunday league side desperately trying to raise cash for a new clubhouse.
Merchandise - don't do a bad job of the kits, but the club shop has no direction, style or identity.
PH should've cleared the place out as soon as he had the chance.

Most clubs partner with a “main sponsor “ who’s branding becomes very strong throughout the club. Our sponsorship is fragmented and therefore, in my opinion, the message these “partners” are hoping to project is diluted and in lots of cases, totally lost. Re Merchandise: Again, if you compare this to other clubs, has been poor since our promotion season in my opinion. I used to spend a fortune every season on coats, t shirts, training tops etc. Lately it just seems that the club agree to accept whatever is on offer from Umbro, rather than adapting the range to fit our specific requirements.
