Hi all The Forum Rules have been simplified for and updated to reflect the new admin team. You can find them here. The changes are simple and minor - we've rolled the offences of trolling, poor quality threads etc. into one, we've simplified the warning levels issued for yellow cards, and we've added a new offence relating to the abuse of club officials. We've also clarified/added a few notes on how we, the new look admin team, will approach our roles. Thanks in advance - times on and off the pitch are tough at the moment but hopefully DATM can continue to be a broad church for views on football and life. UTT

Aggression/flaming Personal aggression towards other members - it is perfectly acceptable to disagree with the contents of post in a passionate way, but please refrain from abusing the poster himself/herself. This is not acceptable.
I've asked this so many times, but please can you explain this more. It always seems totally inconsistent.

Before I was an admin there was an unwritten rule that admins should not report posts - this generally still operates. Now... I may flag up a post by a report to the others that we need to watch this poster, but admins do not adjudicate their own reports. You can see the problem if we did. Someone may message me and say, you need to do something about x poster who has posted y post. My answer every time is, "Well report it then and we will look at it!". Quite often they don't.

Also, to add sometimes people report stuff they may see as crossing the line but we don't. We had a report this week of one poster labelling another a snowflake, and the reporter of the post felt it constituted abuse. We didn't agree that this warranted any sanction. Whereas is they had used another epithet with a similar meaning (for example "pussy") we may have done. Often we'll try and understand the context, infer meaning/intention or whatever - we try to be as human as possible - it's not VAR!

Kenny, Gag_N_Bone_Man (Destabiliser) that isn't what I mean at all. I'm talking about posts which have been reported and have been dealt with inconsistently. You (Kenny) were completely dismissive when we discussed on PM some time ago. Eg here downatthemac.proboards.com/post/2805076

You do a wonderful job guys, keeping this board fun and informative for all. God bless to all 3 of you. I've read and familiarised myself with all rules of the forum and will abide by them to the best of my ability. Except for when someone slags off egg collectors? 😉

Admin Is it possible to display the old politics Board in "view only" mode? I haven't tried this before - but yes I believe it may be possible. I will discuss with my fellow admins and I might try this tonight when its quiet.
