Denmark might surprise they look a well drilled side. Denmark are bang average. Fortunately for them they've come up against one of the worst sides in the tournament who benefitted from a very weak group

If Hogg got a red for one like that you'd be giving the ref dogs abuse. No i wouldn't. I've said on here for years that i find tackles like that more reckless and dangerous than these little clips on someones shin pads that are now automatically red cards. For me its the worst part of the game that you can wipe someone out from behind when they're breaking away safe in the knowledge you're jusr getting a yellow. no intent to play the ball, just taking frustration out on their player who had run them ragged the whole game. It happens rarely enough to warrant a red, and it's contextually different to those similar fouls where players take a yellow for the team to stop a counter- I think making those red card offences would be a bad idea.

That would make them think twice about it and lead to more attacking opportunities which has to be good for the game

Ampadu fractions late in a fast moving situation gets a red card.
Italian striker slides in when the ball is well ahead of him with no chance of getting it and smashes in to the keeper. No yellow card. I know which one was more reckless and stupid

Any foul when there's no intention to get the ball should be a red Any foul where there is obviously no intention to play the ball is an assault? You might as well clatter an opponent in the tunnel on the way out, or as they get off the coach? Sick of seeing a lunge or a shirt grab to stop a counter and some arse applauding it for taking one for the team? Taking what, a booking a fine that some clubs will pay anyway?? Easiest foul to spot the one with no attempt to play the ball, let's outlaw it completely..

Wales lost their heads towards the end and bale was at the heart of it, he did one or two like Wilson’s but earlier and then sarcastically clapping the ref.
Wilson was sprinting at him from twenty yards away and had no intention to play the ball. One of those on a Thursday night five a side in the wrong part of town could start a ten man brawl.

Whereas the foul by Wilson was nothing more than petulance and frustration I generally see nothing wrong with taking one for the team and I would certsinly expect any Town player to do it certain circumstances whether it's considered in the spirit of the game or not.

Some of Austria's basic football skills are bloody terrible, some seem unable to control the ball or pass it.

Italy haven't got away with one Murphy. One of the clearer offsides you will see, don't know why it took so long.
