And so we’re at the stage of the start of the play offs in England and at the final nitty gritty end in Scotland. Who do Town fans want to see join Norwich and Watford in the Premiership? Do we want a fairytale ending for Barnsley after coming within seconds of relegation last season? They’d certainly be a far better representation of Yorkshire in the top league than Leeds, but the flip side of the coin is they’d probably utilise their new found wealth better than Town and we’d be in their shadow for a helluva long time. For that reason alone I’d like to see Brentford go up.
Coming up to join Hull and Peterborough I think maybe the weakest would be best possibly Oxford or Lincoln, but probably not Sunderland, though Blackpool could be a seaside day out if fans are back.
It’s Newport, Tranmere, Morcambe and Forest Green Rovers for League 1 and probably the latter for me as they’re fairly new to the football league.
Conference not quite complete yet but Sutton would be new members (I think) Epsom will enjoy ! Halifax still outside chance of play offs, and Bromley would be new, a few former league teams there too.
In Scotland it’s Dundee or Kilmarnock, Morton or Airdrie, Kelty Hearts or Brechin City, (Kelty would be League virgins) and the most important of all Edinburgh City or Dumbarton, the 1st Leg is tonight at Ainslie Park, interest in that one for me and Champers (K.O. 7.35pm) Come on Dumbarton !

Hope it's Blackpool as it's a fun day out. I hope Sunderland do bounce back and I'm sure they will with this new owner, but not for another season yet please. We need the league as weak as possible!

Brentford, Blackpool, Forest Green Rovers.
in Scotland the only one I care about is Dumbarton, as I was born in Alexandria just 4 miles from The Rock (the stadium not the wrestler turned actor). Fun fact, William Wallace played in midfield for the club in the 70s. Freedom, and all that.

Brentford for me from our league - we have shared history in the play offs and it would be nice for there fans to experience the PL
Would really like Sunderland to make it
I also quite like Tranmere - used to work with one of there fans who was a good lad. I also remember them getting to the League Cup final in the 90s and having a couple of play off tilts at the Premier League. Good fans (could easily follow one of the other Liverpool sides) with a smart Stadium - I don't think you could begrudge them some success

Genuinely no preference who goes up from the Championship - at a push I'd say Brentford, because they've been out the top the division the longest.
Weird as it sounds, I've got a massive soft-spot for Oxford - because of some mates. Went to half-a-dozen of their games back when they were in non-league. They went from playing at Old Trafford to playing at Droylsden...so they deserve to go up, for me, and I'd love a trip down there.
I've always thought of Tranmere as 2nd/3rd tier club, so I hope they go up. If Forest Green went up, we'd only hear even more about veganism.
Got a soft-spot for Killie, again mostly because of a mate - that and the blue-and-white stripes.

Cheating, diving, shit-stirrer. Always, always got key decisions against us. It's as if the refs knew that he couldn't be in the wrong.

No one could understand where the ref found the injury time from, one theory in the stands was he'd forgotten to re-start his watch! I do remember Cowan scoring for us earlier in the game and being gutted we didn't hold out

Would be great to see Barnsley in the Premier League again.
Seen Lincoln a handful of times this season and been really impressed, so I hope they come up. Although I think Sunderland are the strongest of the four teams in the play offs.
Would also be good to see Morecambe in League 1, although I don’t really care about the League 2 play offs.

Genuinely dont care that much, but Blackpool coming up would be good for obvious reasons, having said that who's to say we`ll be able to go.

On an emotional level I can appreciate your sentiment re Barnsley, but the downside is that to the south of Huddersfield (Denby Dale, Scissett, Clayton West, Skelmanthorpe etc) they have the potential to 'fish in the same pond' for support. If they catch them young they are lost to Town. As an aside, I note that the large Audi garage in Wakefield is a major sponsor for Barnsley, suggesting that they also have 'some pull' around Wakefield. It's bad enough having Leeds now in the Prem. with added 'magnetism' after so many years of faded glory.

Would like to see Morecambe promoted. Lived there in my student days and spent many a heavily hungover Saturday afternoon at Christie Park back when they were in the Northern Premier League. Well run club with a decent following.

One of the advantages of being a nonentity is you can just sit back and watch the play-offs and enjoy....Think Brentford will do it this year although I'd be glad to see the back of Bourthmouthski ...league one ? yep, Blackpool would be more fun...expect WBA, Fulham and Sheff Utd will occupy the top 3 places next season regardless...

Anybody other than Brentford. Have a business model of developing players, selling them on at a huge profit year after year, so the last thing they want is promotion thereby turning them from a successful business that happens to play football into a actual football club. As for L1 got to be Blackppol. Have waited years to sign on the pitch, on the pitch, on the pitch after 48 mins.

Hopefully Barnsley. It would be another ‘unfashionable’ club showing team spirit and nous can outwit huge investment and annual losses.
Oxford from L1. We had some good battles with them in our promotion seasons of 1995 & 2004. Who can forget Sodje’s heroics at their 3 stand home? A great day.
FGR in L2. A proper community club who should be admired for having principles.

My father in law is a season ticket holder at Sunderland, never played them all the time I've known him. We had some great nights against them in the early 90s at Leeds Road. The 4-0 cup win was a wonderful night. I remember being stood on the East Terrace (about 12 years old) as Gary Barnett curled one into the top corner. They were in the division above at the time. That night was one of my favourite football memories.

For Champers and BigDaddyG... Edinburgh City v Dumbarton is live on BBC Alba (channel 117) sky in Scotland. Not sure if that channel is available in England and the commentary is in GAELIC, but the camera work is perfectly fine. Not sure if youse have other things on or watching championship play offs, but thought I’d let DATM’s Dumbarton (Scottish teams) fans know anyway.
Edinburgh City 0 v Dumbarton 0 (28 mins).... Come on ye Sons o’ The Rock !!!

For purely selfish reasons I want Bournemouth and Lincoln promoted. The weaker the Championship is next year, the better it is for town. Oxford, Blackpool and Sunderland would all spend money and I'm not convinced Swansea or Barnsley would be particularly strong next year.
Just like this season, you have to assume that town will need other teams to be worse than them to survive.

Pretty sure it was the first time I'd been to Leeds Road with a large (for those days) crowd! Only downside was being in with Sunderland fans coz I'd gone with 3 mates from college who were Sunderland fans! Amazing really that us four Northerners were all at the same college, in the same dorm, on the same course, at a college in Chichester, a stone's throw from bloody Portsmouth! Was quite an interesting car ride back though, apart from the constant threats of halfway abandonment 😂
