I think 15 goals seems quite likely, when you remember that we have him on a 3 year contract. That'd be on par with his performance for a similarly poor team in the same division over the last few years. Koroma bagging twenty is much more believable if the lad can stay fit for a full season. Absolutely no way they combine for thirty-five goals in a season with Campbell around, though.

£100 it is penalties or not. Only league goals though. He will do OK for us...cos we are shite. One every 3 games is not happening....surprised if he plays 20 times once sussed out. Ok done, £100 says he’ll get 15 league goals for us next season. I was wondering if you might like to pay up as i am sorting my affairs and i have some money to send to my Pancreatic cancer charity

Leave the link on this thread or DM it me and I’ll make sure to pay it if he doesn’t get there

Rhodes looked like a fish out of water on Friday night. Granted he hasn’t played much but he just doesn’t seem to fit our system. The recruitment team have pulled some great signings out of the bag, and after all the abuse they received from myself included deserve some credit, but 3 years for this guy still seems stupid. More of a PH heart ruling head type signing perhaps? Doesn’t look like we’re getting a striker so let’s hope Danny defies his reputation for injuries and stays fit for the rest of the season.

He'd have looked like a fish out of water in this system if he was 11/12 Rhodes, nevermind 10 years later.
Only way he won't is if he's up front with Ward, probably as a sub if chasing a game. Anything else and I'm convinced he's beyond useless.

He’s yet to have a concrete chance yet I.e played through on goal, cross onto his head etc, he’s not a work horse he needs service, granted Ward has gone looking for his service but I would like to see what he could do playing alongside him

He's useless in a system where we don't have the ball, and when we do have the ball we lump it upfield. That's pretty much all he's had so far.
He'd look far better starting games.
Bringing him on on Friday was a ridiculous substitution and tells you more about CC than it does about Rhodes.

Not sure if the long injury is his problem, but he looked dreadful to me on Friday night. Can’t run. Making three of four strides asif to close someone down. Like others have said though, he was never a loan striker so not sure why anyone would expect him to be now.

Yep. I can see him doing well in a pairing alongside either Ward or Campbell but as a lone striker I didn't get it in the summer & I don't now either.
Then again, I also wrote Wardy off, so ....

Bringing him on on Friday was a ridiculous substitution and tells you more about CC than it does about Rhodes. If only we had lumped everything upfield..🙄 Or even pressed occasionally a bit further up the pitch. Ward had a minor injury and had to come off. Jordan coming on was not the only option or indeed the best one given we had retreated so far back. We needed to move up a bit, add a couple of pairs of legs to chase them about further up our own half and to be able to just run the ball into their half for us to shift up and reset. I am less nervous of us defending and only defending, a wee bit further up. A one nil win with only one chance in the second half would have done for me. Defending deep for the last few minutes is one thing but the law of averages regarding how close the opposition are to your goal for much, much longer is obvious. Still took them 3 shots in the same move to score.

I think he could work as a lone striker, but not when we're in full on defensive mode like we usually are when he comes on the field.

He started at Burnley, Tarkowski put him in his pocket then let him out to be substituted

Just for a change.
Bring him on for half an hour and adapt the system to play to his strengths - then he’ll get the goals.
