Rhodes has been signed for £8m (by Blackburn), £11m (by Boro) and £10m by Sheff Weds. We've got him for nowt
He's not hit the heights recently but - and it is a big "but" - if he fires he's a seriously good goalscorer at this level
Two things I would say - he will get the chance to play and the way we play he will get opportunities to score
Personally, I think he's another solid signing
I also remember that he didn't push a move in the winter transfer window the year we went up. Instead, he stayed around and finished the job ... and there's no way we'd have gone up in 2012 if Rhodes (and his 40 goals that season) had left in January 2012
He’s scored 35 goals in his last 175 appearances / 6 seasons
Absolutely ridiculous to give him a 3 year deal
We’re already stuck with Holmes & Ward - but we say it’s important we learn our lessons. We screwed up last summer. We repeated it in January. We’ve done it again
What next? Anthony Kay? Oscar Gobern?
We need to look forward not back
Is the limit of our scouting Phil’s autograph book from 2010-14, Bromby ‘a phone number and championship manager search players out of contract Jun-21?
How is he going to fit into a fast paced, attacking intensity side?
We gave up on it in November - have we completely given up on it?
If so fine but why is Carlos still here - he’s shown he’s incapable of managing otherwise. Are we just hoping he quits?
Surely the whole point of this summer if Carlos has to stay should be to bring players who want to play on the front foot, young, fast, energetic, resale values etc?

If we could get Smithies and Morrison then I wouldn’t be complaining though!

What are we trying to achieve?
Which fast paced attacking side are you referring to?
He'll get 15 goals next season no sweat, probably would have only given him 2 years mind. Quite pleased he's back.
How do you work that one out? He’s not scored 15 goals in a season since 2015/16
He’s not reached double figures since then!
From what I've read on here. The reason Rhodes hasn't scored many is the fault of every single manager hes played under the past five years not Rhodes himself. Work that one out.

Jack Hunt next! We’re after a RB.
Seriously wouldnt be surprised if Andy Holdsworth rocked up next

Devlin on the point of Carlos: “It wouldn’t be right of us to appoint him for all his attributes and then make it difficult to achieve what we are all looking for which is fast-paced, high pressed, attacking football, which will excite the fans.”
He’s 6 goals of being the highest scorer ever at championship level . He’s 31 not 35 . 3 year contract maybe 1 year too far but people making out this is is a shocking signing need to give there head a shake . Give the lad a chance , he’s got enough credit with us surely to give him that ?

I honestly can't work Town fans out, you're all there wanking yourselves stupid over Pearson, a lower league clogger of a centre back at best, then when we sign a quality striker and Hodgkinson a wanker again. As I said before if you're a trier and run around like a headless chicken for 90 minutes and work hard you're a legend, fuck me, the fans at this club.

He scored the same amount of goals as Campbell in less than half the amount of minutes last season for a team that created fewer chances.

If you’ve been following his career you’ll realise that one of his Managers was Tony Pulis. The guy who in one game when Boro were 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go and Rhodes on the bench, brought on a left back
Signing a day. Like this recruiting now. Wonder who tomorrow? Pilkington? 😂😂. Tbh happy with both, if ya think otherwise and one of our best ever finishers isn't good enough, go have a bath in acid

About as much chance of Danny Ward playing 30 games
It’ll work because for once, he’ll get some service. I’m looking forward to him silencing all the doubters.
Wheres all this service coming from.
Let's not forget Wednesday had a six point deduction. They should of finished two points below us, so we are pretty much on the same level of shitness. Whys it going to be any different here for him.
Astute piece of business. He’s got the skill and is highly motivated to do well. Play the right way around him and give him the games and I agree with the earlier post he will get 15 goals next season.

The fact is he was on the bench though. Wonder why???
