We love signing a former player and have had success on re-hiring managers previously. Buxton, Jacko, any more we’ve employed twice? I’m not counting Wadsworth!
Spurs apparently want to re-hire Pocchetino.
Canny bloke Levy: it cost £19.5m to sack him and his staff and they publically agreed to pay his successor, Mourinho, double his £8.5m salary. They would now have to pay PSG compensation to get him back and he’d no doubt want a huge pay rise to be close to Jose’s £17m pa.

Just don't bring Supermac back.

Tom Johnston. Before Ian Greaves and after Bobby Collins. Johnston holds a couple of records as Town boss, he has the unwanted one of being in charge for our worst ever finish, 11th in Div.4 in 1978 and he’s the only man, so far, to have had 3 spells in the hot seat, bizarrely on two of them we had ditched the stripes for plain blue shirts. Limited success at Town but as manager of York they had their best spell ever with two promotions and a time in the 2nd tier.

He should be in Wandsworth should Wadsworth. Just don't bring Supermac back. I'm going to division one, who's coming with me?. When Town first fell down into the third tier a new board of directors and chairman took control and they boldly claimed “We don’t intend to stay in the 3rd Division for long.” They of course were proved correct, two years later we were relegated to the 4th. Then fast forward some 45 years and love him or loathe him you would be hard pressed to find an upside to Dean Hoyle’s “We won’t sleepwalk into relegation” in the PL.

We all knew at the time that this quote from Hoyle was ill-judged and would come back to haunt him.

Had a great team in the sixties that should have gone up, also signed some good players, Malcolm Brown and Colin Dobson among them.

Never forget demonstrating outside the main entrance as he stopped on the stairs inside the stadium not looking like he gave a T**s. Then the club sacked him, but had to do a u turn because they could not pay him off.

In the past, this is where I’d be expecting a post from Nick eulogising about Lee Clark and how he’d be great if he came back with his team selection bingo machine and back room team. Despite all evidence to the contrary.

The 2nd time was my first season following Town, 75/76 but he didn’t bring them back, we started the season with them under Bobby Collins, however he did introduce them the first team we wore them in 66/67.

Unless you count caretakers, Jacko is the only one I saw both spells. Narrowly missed out on Mick Buxton's first spell as I started supporting them early in Steve Smith's time.

I don't remember Roy ever working there. Roy Elam has / had a gym and fitness centre in Mirfield near the train station, as for Geoff Hutt one of my first driving jobs, 30 years ago, was for Tibbett & Britten at Morley and He did use to work there but he made a silly mistake and had to leave !
