Great news for the kid. Hopefully gets the chance to play every week. Big season for him

Really needs to have a productive season at Walsall otherwise I can't see him staying at Town. He'll be 22 by the time he comes back and most footballers who "make it" are playing regular first-team football by that age.

Be interesting to see how he fares against big nasty centre halves, there isn't a right lot to him unless he's filled out over the summer

Not sure why we are doing Walsall any favours with our decent looking younger players after they supposedly tried to do us over last season with Adebayo. I would have pulled it last minute after asking for a larger loan fee, then let him go to a rival club in League 2.

He spent 2 whole seasons out from a really bad injury so he's much more likely to come good a few years down the line compared to other 21 year olds playing at that level. Definitely had something about him last season and was unlucky not to score a few. I reckon he'll have a good season with them.

I would have pulled it last minute after asking for a larger loan fee, then let him go to a rival club in League 2. I can understand the temptation, but the club have to go beyond a petty notion of revenge for one party doing what they felt was the way to get the best deal they could for their club. There's nothing to get revenge for. Even if there was though, this is about getting the right move for a promising youngster. No other factor should hold any relevance. They seem keen to help him develop. I don't know what transfer business they've done since Adebayo left but maybe they see him as a temporary replacement, so he could get a decent amount of game time. www.saddlers.co.uk/news/2021/july/kieran-phillips-joins-the-saddlers-on-loan-from-huddersfield-town/Fingers crossed

It looks as though at the present time, Kieran Phillips makes up 50% of Walsall's forwards. I'm not familiar with their players so maybe a winger also plays as a striker. I'm just going off transfermarkt.co.uk and Wikipedia. The player profiles on their OS is clearly badly out of date.

Opportunity for one of our other strikers perhaps. Harratt desperately needs a loan where he'll actually get minutes.

For some players, they just need to get minutes in, like O'Brien at The Chickens, otherwise they just might miss their window of opportunity. I know there is always The Jamie Vardy Clause, but if they are going to make it at Towns level, they (and we) really don't have much time left?

Made his debut in a friendly vs Palace. Wearing the number 9 shirt, which may give some indication as to how they see him (i.e. as a first team regular). I think there'd be more footage of him in this video if he'd been a keeper or defender - it's a bit one sided, particularly in the first half - but there's a decent bit of action at 3:15 if anyone doesn't fancy just watching a whole video of Crystal Palace tearing Walsall's defence to shreds.

Just in those few seconds he shows alot of striker qualities, to ghost in against a Premier League defence, control and volley in quick succession. I would wager he'll be a success for Walsall this season and promising for his future with us.

Really hope he does well there.
